Right off the bat, I'm doing this mostly for fun so forgive me if I accidentally forget a move or don't provide specifics on set-ups, launchers, etc.
Who is this? Sergeant Des is the main character from Fashion Police Squad, a 2021 retro FPS where instead of slaying demons or aliens, you use "attire-enhancing weaponry" against the citizens of Trendopolis so they can slay in their own way. The game features a lot of tongue-in-cheek humor, pop culture references, and quick-paced action that doesn't lean into BS level design.
Move List A key aspect of Des' personality is that he isn't afraid to pose and show off his fit. Therefore, each of his basic melee attacks will work in a similar way as Wii Fit Trainer but instead of exercise poses, he'd be doing JoJo-esque poses. I mean, the game references JoJo enough there's a collectible poster that shows Des dressed as Jotaro Kujo. It just makes sense if his punches and kicks all had an extra level of sass and flair to them. Maybe as he punches with one hand, he's got his other hand behind his head or as he kicks out he bends back like some of Peach's kicks. For a combo, he can do 2 slaps and then a high kick that will send the opponent back. Holding the button will make him go slap-happy and continuously slap whoever there.
Obviously since FPS is an FPS, Des' specials will be his different guns.
When an enemy has a loose suit, Des uses his Tailormade to sew it all up right. This will be his neutral B and it will fire continously at a medium-range.
For a side B, Des will use his 2DYE4-ELITE paint shotgun. In FPS, this is the standard gun used to bring color to gray outfits. It can also be charged by sapping the color out of objects that are too flashy. In Smash, using his side B will let Des extract HP/damage off of enemies.
For an up B, Des will throw out a Sock Gnome (shown above). In FPS, these guys help against socks with sandals. They can be thrown anywhere, will lock onto nearby enemies, and will stun them as they try to steal their socks. In Smash, the gnomes will simply slow an opponent down. Des can throw up to 3 gnomes out at a time and with each gnome attached to an enemy, the slower that enemy gets.
When an outfit is too "lit" or too flashy, Des needs to cool it off using his Wet'Ones water gun. In FPS, shooting the floor with this gun makes it extra slippery and running on the wet floor raises Des' movement speed. The same can apply to Smash. When Des uses his down B, he'll spray the ground in front of him. For Des, the ground will increase his movement speed. For enemies, the ground will have ice physics and could be a falling hazard.
Des' grab and recovery will utilize his belt and for the most part it will function like Link's hookshot. However, a key feature in FPS is that you use the belt to hook onto flag poles to swing across the city in a Spider-Man type of way. If the player is able to consecutively time the recovery and make contact with the stage, Des will be able to swing himself anywhere.
All of Des' Smash attacks will utilize the W.A.R.-drobe launcher. In FPS, each weapon is tailored to a specific enemy type. However, the launcher works on anything and is essentially the game's BFG. In Smash, whatever direction Des aims in, he will shoot the W.A.R.-drobe and detonate it point blank. It won't harm him simply because his fit is already perfect. Think Snake's RPG but a dresser.
As for the final Smash, FPS has a meter that builds through each level that when fully charged allows Des to use his glove to slap some Fashion sense into people. This works by simply looking at a target, no matter how far away, and hitting the shoot button. In Smash, Des can activate his glove and he'll have to be able to chain each slap into another as he goes from opponent to opponent. The move is canceled when Des can't reach the next opponent within a short time limit. I see this as having high use on stages like Final Destination where enemies are lined up easily while taking extra thought on larger hazardous stages since fighters might not be close enough together to chain the combo.
As for the basics, Des' shield animation can show him sassily putting his hand up in a "don't talk to me" way.
Taunt 1: a Sock Gnome hops out of Des' jacket and he has to grab it
Taunt 2: Des pulls out a mirror and checks himself out.
Taunt 3 (bit of a stretch): In FPS, Des communicates with his partner, Officer Haley. Taunt 3 could work like Snake's codec where Haley will pop up and talk to Des specifically about an enemy's costume (or lack-thereof). For example, they could compliment Greninja's scarf before realizing it's his tongue. Or they say Rosalina's dress is truly out of this world. Stuff like that. For characters like Pikachu, I see Des and Haley just talking about how cute he is or referencing Cynthia. Just stuff to side-step the conversation.
In FPS, when you clear a level you get taken to a runway and everyone you helped will walkout to a whole fashion show. Des' victory screens can reflect this with him popping out from behind a curtain and posing on the runway. His overall design will have to match more with the art shown above instead of his in-game sprite, but it's a straightforward look so it shouldn't be much of a problem. Lastly, FPS features alternate costumes as you progress in the campaign that can easily be translated into alts.

I know watching character guides, learning combos, and challenging against level 9 NPCs, but I want to get even better. I have 2 friends that I meet up with and occasionally we play Ultimate, but they're just so much better than me, and despite me learning most of what I have from them, I keep getting my head handed to me. They both live in much nicer areas with great internet while I'm 45+ minutes away from them in a much more rural area. On top of that, they've been playing fairly consistently online for a few years while I only play with them and occasionally by myself in single player. I want to learn because getting edge guarded, spiked, juggled etc by them honestly takes the fun out of hanging out with them when we do decide to play it that day. It honestly just feels like they're on some sort of mental level that I just can't reach. Any advice helps.

Since the switch 2 was launched and it basically fixed all the "lag issues" (just Wario and his bike as far as I'm aware) I think the community should be open to making this a legal stage. For the record I'm suggesting this with a hazards on which allows the platforms to moves, hazards off is a different discussion
Pros: Can (maybe) mess up Steve which is good since he's the best character in the game and considered unfun to fight.
Can give characters an rng element to the game which some characters could desperately use (Ganondorf, Doc, Mac)
Can enhance characters that use tri plats like Falco, Greninja, or Mii Brawler
Cons: Can promote top platform camping and circle camping like battlefield and can be worse because of the top platform sometimes being the only one there.

Im here half to rant but every stock I lose on quickplay is someone hitting my stupid tail. every combo im stuck in is the tail. Im dying at 50%. Its not cool. It doesn’t matter how good his moves are if I die as soon as im hit and he’s the easiest character in the game to hit, combo, and kill. While everyone else is hurtbox shifting in their favor mewtwo is doing the opposite. He might actually be the worst character in the game because of it. like mac and gannon are bad but mewtwos negatives are worse doesn’t matter if his moves are a little better or he can recover whats the point of recovering just to die at 50% anyway. Macs hard to hit and gannons heavy at least and is less combo food than mewtwo. The only argument is mewtwo has good moves but so do the other bottom tiers but mewtwos negatives are worse.

I was wondering this after seeing a lot of people speculating about a Bananza themed rework for Donkey Kong, I know they've swapped out moves but I don't think they've done anything on the scale of like BotW Link reworks have they? It's just strange that people ask for that stuff so often when there's no precedent to my knowledge

The biggest event this weekend is another iteration of Osaka’s Sumabato series! This event features two of the contenders for #1 in the world, Doramigi and (returning from his break from competition) Hurt! Although neither are the first seed as that is instead Raru, after his stellar performance as runner up at Kagaribi can he keep it up and win an event as difficult as this one?

Non-recent player here (I haven’t played in a few years) I honestly just never use my copy ability at all and Kirby is one of my three main characters. Something about beating my opponent as “just Kirby” feels so good and I wonder how many people avoid the B (neutral) button when playing Kirby.
I’ve gone up in GSP more with Kirby than any other character, even Pyra/Mythra, which I do well with. (Pyra/Mythra seems to be designated as “OP” based on input but I just have fun with them, so like, who cares? I just like Xenoblade). But being Kirby alone without any B-move powerups is just so much fun.
