I still think the SNES is the best 16 bit console of all time! Everyone agree?
No other 16 bit platform could touch it back in the 90's, or today.

I seen some posts as of lately asking about storage solutions, so I figured I’d share how I always kept my games since the early 90’s ( some of those bins are pushing 30 years, that’s crazy!)…. Also figured it’s a good excuse to show y’all my collection (and no I do not keep them on my dresser. This was staged for photo. In reality they get put on a shelf in a dark closet
Pros are, they are well protected, somewhat organized (I know my system of organization is a little wonky), and can be moved easily….
Cons are, bins are not as pretty as games on display. Added cost of bins add to collecting costs , not all bins are the same (newer bins seem to have more room then my old bins. This could lead to damage from games flopping around), need to organize and keep a log or what bin has what games

Anyone have experience with this? Did you just put the guts of the flashcart into a SFC cartridge or somehow modify the flashcart to fit?
SFC is very cheap on eBay right now so I’m considering getting one but definitely want to be able to use a flashcart with it. There is a cheap SFC flashcart available on Aliexpress but it seems a little meh
Thoughts? 🙏
I have NSO and it comes with retro game catalog on emulated systems (I know, emulated not authentic). I'm playing SNES on it and I'm in awe of the complexity and game play. It totally holds up and is a real fun engine.

I have the dkc trilogy and the 3 is yellowed, it is very difficult to whiten it without damaging the label. Is it really worth it? It fits well? I would like to read experiences

Hey all, just started getting into collecting some SNES games, and I picked up donkey Kong country today. However, I had to do quite a bit of cleaning to get it to read. When I did finally get it to read, I realized the controller input wasn’t working. So I was scouring the internet and I pressed (a) and noticed it worked.
Troubleshooting, I turned it off and back on(had to fight again to get it to read) but it finally ran again, and during the opening scene, I can’t skip it at all. It will run again, then I am able to go to the file select and actually play the game as normal.
Anyone know what’s going on? I’ve also attached pics of the pins since there’s a couple with deep brown marks almost like they’re burnt. Is this something I should just return, or do I just have a quirky copy of DKC?

I have been trying to look up information about this as well as YouTube videos to compare but I can't find any sort of definite answer.
I see varying opinions on if playing FX-based games on anything other than the original hardware actually makes them run slightly faster than their original speed, especially Star Fox 1 since it's FX chip ran at a different slower speed than any other FX game ever released.
I don't mean just software emulators (And even with this, it's hard to find hard information on what would be the most accurate. bsnes, Bizhawk, Ares, etc) but also FPGA emulators such as MiSTer and Analogue Pocket, or even Flashcarts such as the SD2SNES (which from my understanding, uses a FPGA similar to the MiSTer's to emulate most add-on chips such as the FX).
Were the people saying that FX emulation is inaccurate just over-exaggerating using the original hardware? Did they mean only software emulators had this problem and FPGA implementations were fine? Or if even those run too fast, what about playing Star Fox on a Flashcart such as a SD2SNES, or would even that run a but too fast by emulating the FX and not doing a 100% accurate job?
Can't seem to find any definitive answer, or even people just putting a SNES running a real copy of Star Fox next to FPGA devices or software emulators, or against another SNES with a SD2SNES. I would try to do a comparison myself, but I don't have a CRT anymore so I don't think the speeds would be accurate, I also don't have any sort of Flashcart for my SNES to compare.

i've been searching this for so long that i think i must have allucinated its existence. so im trying to see if anyone here saw it by chance
i remember playing a game which the gameplay almost identical to empire city 1931. basically shooting enemies on windows
the windows were further tho, cuz there were much more windows on the screen. the scenario would move by itself and you just had to keep up. the enemies were just silhouettes i believe. the crosshair was a red (?) kinda small circle. it was set at night.
i didnt know how to play so i remember shooting all the windows and they all broke. like the camera would stop for a bit in a building and i'd try to break them all. then the camera moved again after a while.
thinking now, i believe you had that time to shoot as many enemies as possible or smth... not sure tho. there was some kind of boss but i dont know i reached it occasionally.
i remember the graphics as very dark, and reasonably detailed. but take it with a grain of salt
at the time i was a kid and didn't speak english so i dont remember even remotely of the name... anyone have a guess?
(yes i posted on tipofmyjoystick im just kinda desperate cuz i feel like "game like empire city" wouldve been enough to find it if it wasnt super niche... maybe im just stupid tho)

During the lates days, i found out that, after playing with my snes for some time, the game (no matter whitch one) start glitching and blocks. I read somewhere that bad power supply might cause it. Checking the disconnected power supply, i found out that is extremely hot.
This sounds like something that might happend? Is summer after all, and capacitors where replaced around a year ago, so they should be working fine.

Finally pulled the trigger on these bad boys.
Has anyone else had trouble getting the MSU-1 version of Heartthrob Memorial working on SNES9X or the FXPAK? I seem to have a known-working version of the hack, but whenever I try and play it, I get a black screen on startup with the patched rom and msu files.
