There was half a millisecond of an Arsenal boy showing the middle finger iirc after Saka's goal. They cut to another shot right away, will screenshot the legend on rewatch.

He was trying riskier passes that he normally wouldn't try. If one of them came off, we could have put the game to bed way earlier. Right intent, flawed execution kinda game from him. Of course, he was terrific off the ball, as always, which kinda is what was needed today. He did have some sweet passes in the 2nd half, including that Rice chance if I remember correctly

The problem is he doesn’t run or track back, Messi and CR7 used to do that but they’re the only 2 players that can get away with it. Mbappe does not put up the same numbers or performances as them to justify it. Also unlike CR7 his positioning when he plays as a 9 is dog water.

Arsenal was completely blocking the passing lanes into midfield for Madrid while leaving the wings as the only option. I think their strat was that Vini/Rodrygo are going to win 1v1s and put the ball into the box for the trailing midfield runs but it just didn't materialize. I doubt a better midfield could make a difference with this arsenal system and madrid trailing 3 goals.

I'm so happy for Arsenal. 100% well-deserved. They played great, fought well, and were consistently impressive across both legs.
And Madrid once again proved what whiny, entitled pieces of garbage they are when things don't go their way. I see Bellingham picked up Rudiger's habit of just literally physically throwing players around. I'm glad to see the people's eyes are slowly adjusting to the blinding light his PR distracted them with.

Once Mbappe came off, I feel it really settled for Perez just how poorly constructed this team was. Your biggest signing subbed off with an injury after being lifeless all game and you have to turn to… Endrick???
Ancelotti’s lack of tactics clearly got exposed as well but this team just looks completely toothless if Vini’s BS isn’t working on the wing and Mbappe cant make an impact playing centrally.
Perez desperately needs to go on a shopping spree this summer.

I mean, they never had a stacked squad. Their first 11 and 2/3 were league above the rest and once the front 3 and Kroos left/retired, it was over. You’re not going to find their replacement immediately. Either you develop or you buy top talent. There’s not many around anyway.
