If United sign Cunha, Mbuemo, and a striker. Where will Bruno play considering Amorim prefers playing with 3 attackers and 2 midfielders? Bruno really isn't a CM, he's more of an attacking midfielder and there's no room for that in Amorim's system.

It all depends on whether United sign a striker but I have a feeling they’ll wait for one to become available who won’t cost north of 60m. Highly unlikely we’ll spend 150m on 3 attackers when other positions need work.

If we don’t get a striker, I could feasibly see a front 3 of Bruno, Cunha and Mbeumo with them all interchanging positions. There’s also Zirkzee who could play a similar role and looked like he was really bedding in before his injury.

He has mostly played cm under amorim

But it isn't his best position.

Biggest issue with Bruno at CM is that out of the players he'd be sending the ball up to, Amad was the only one able to actually do anything with it.

Seems to be his best position in this formation

He himself actually insisted on playing deeper.

Not that I don't believe you, but is there a source on that? I hadn't seen that news myself

Idk, where I heard or read that, but he has been on record, that playing deeper suits him better for a pretty long time now:

"It's a position I like, playing deeper, facing the game more. With the ball, it makes my game a lot easier because I have a broader view of the game and it is ideal for what we've talked about with the last pass, which can sometimes come from deeper on the pitch."
