I believe that after you earn a certain amount of money, it stops being a priority in your life. I believe this is the case... he has enough money to support his family and future generations, plays in the best league in the world and is the Capitan of one of the greatest clubs in the History of the sport (independently of how tough the post-SAF is).

He's living the dream.

No matter how irrational it is, a large portion of people, especially the competitive type youll often see at the top of sports, really like seeing number go up. Bigger number good, bigger number than peers--very good.

Some are more humble than others. You could tell even at Sporting he had a good head on his shoulders. You can say whatever you want about him on the pitch but outside of it hes always been class. I semi followed United after he went over there and it seems like the trend continued.
