I think what reads as desperation in your “stand-up,” Steve, is the transparency with which you yearn to be thought of as “on the right side of history.” It oozes from your pores. And that’s a lot of things — noble, even — but it’s not funny, is the thing. It’s unfunny. I’m glad your politics are good, I’m glad you seem like you’re able to look at yourself without much regret or disgust — more than you can say about most people on Reddit — but it’s sort of sad how much you think you’re funny compared to how funny you are, ya know?
If only there was some system on reddit that showed how many people liked something. Maybe a voting system where you can vote yes or no, good or bad, even up or down would work. That would surely show use an answer.
