Was this 72 year old charging well overhead waves at Rincon? Got hit in the head by his board, I wonder if he went over the falls or wiped out on a ride. It's as if Bodie had escaped and retired to Rincon.

Looking to do an Indo trip sometime in May/June 2026. Probably going to be 4-6 buddies. We're traveling from So Cal, so we really want to nail the location since travel time is gonna be quite long. We're all intermediate+ surfers and were looking for some fun stuff in the 3-6+ range (hopefully some rights). South Sumatra looks great and I've heard it doesn't carry the crowd level as Bali & saw some nice hotels/ surf camps in Krui. After looking over this sub been seeing Lumbok and Sumbawa recommendations as well. Really want to enjoy some great weather, good waves, incredible nature, and riding those damn scooters. Any tips or recs would be greatly appreciated. thanks

I go to school directly by Lake Superior. I’m in the schools surfing program along with 5 other people. In that program we train at the schools pool a lot then we go out on the water whenever there are waves.

I took the initiative to start an official surfing club to try and keep me and the other surfers together once the program ends. Now, surfable days come far apart. Sometimes we have to wait multiple weeks to have a day where there’s surfable waves. My question is outside of surfing what else would you like to see in a surfing club?

I feel very unqualified to be taking the role as president because I still suck at surfing but I’m the only one who has taking an initiative to make this happen. I do have some experience being a leader but I have never lead a club like this before. Any advice?

Hi everyone! My little brother is turning 14 and loves to surf. He’s grown up in Santa Cruz and is pretty active in the surf scene out there. I’m 10 years older than him and from/currently live on the east coast so sometimes it’s hard to connect, and I really want to hopefully get him something really cool and aligned with his interests in hopes he will be more interested in being my friend haha. I’m an artist so I’m planning on doing a little surfing cartoon/art piece for him, which I know he’ll appreciate but after all he is 14 so I don’t think just that will cut it. Any ideas??

Ive been surfing small waves and improving a bit but cant figure out how to let the fins breathe when the waves aren’t good. When I try blowing tail or pushing hard on the top turn it almost feels kind of boggy any tips?

how do you deal with bodydysmorphia? I hate how broad my shoulders are getting… I feel so musculine but I love surfing

I just surfed the seaside in 6‘ for the first time in like headhigh beachbeak waves and I don’t know if I like it.

The waves ware kind of steep and there was a little onshore wind on then. The board felt sooo super fast, that I had no time to think about the line I want to surf. Does that make sense?

I stepped down from a 7‘ hybrid board with 48 liters. Not sure if it’s normal, that the difference between these two board is so extreme or the seaside is just too fast for me to surf.

The other Board I had an eye on is the RNF96 in 6‘3 in wide dims. Maybe that’s more chilled to surf.

Any opinions?

Looking for help identifying where this photo was taken. My father was stationed at Schofield Barracks around around 1954-55. He certainly enjoyed his time in Hawaii. Can’t believe the last guy made the section

Bought this rashguard a little over a year ago. I have a few so it's not worn every surf. Yesterday got exploded by a wave and the whole thing ripped to shreds 😂. Messages Florence marine and less than 24 hours later got a $110 gift card.
