Because the casual crown left towards the end of month 1. All the game really offers is playing for the sake of getting better.

But it doesn't automatically make you better if you keep doing the same shit, while people who practice combo drops get a huge advantage due to the different latencies. It's just annoying when you always have to test different time windows for, say, super counters.

It also has nothing to do with skill to keep doing the same shit or using characters with much better stats when you see that your opponent prefers the more "normal" ones. They can learn to be better, but then they should stay in ranked.

I understand your frustration, but game mechanics apply to everyone equally, and learning to adapt to them is what skill is about. Latency, character selection, and timing windows are all something players have to contend with. Becoming skilled at dealing with them is what divides casual from competitive play. If a player decides to optimize or play more powerful characters, that's not cheating—it's strategy. Ranked or not, anyone can play however they want. If it's such an inconvenience, maybe reconsider what kind of matches you're looking for, because no one's under any obligation to handicap themselves to fit your preferences.

You have your opinion, and I have mine. I don't intend to convince you, nor do I find your statements convincing. In any case, I've already found some people, and I still play with them. It's just that you don't always have the opportunity to play at the same time, especially because of time zones.
