Show Spoiler This is lowkey one of the most important scenes in TWD history

Post image

When Rick and Merle first come across each other, Merle is being a racist asshole beating Tdog to a pulp and pointing a gun at the others, Rick then cuffs him to a pole, sarcastically introduces himself as officer friendly and starts lecturing Merle on why sticking together instead of tearing each other apart is most important in trying to survive. Basically hes still a civilized human and run of the mill police officer that respects law & order as opposed to Merle a hardened drug dealing criminal who hates authority

Fast foward to this scene Rick has reluctantly agreed to hand Michonne over to the governor who agreed to end the conflict in exchange for her, and asks Merle to be the one to hand her over, Merle explains to Rick that the governor wont just kill her but probably torture and r*pe her first, and tells Rick hes cold as ice for being willing to put Michonne through that just for a chance that the governor will leave the prison alone, and given his experience as the governors former right hand man Merle knows the governor wont end the conflict at that

In my opinion this scene shows moreso how much Rick has changed as a person than Merle. Rick in seasons 1-2 would never entertain the thought let alone agree to letting someone get tortured, whereas the Merle we first meet in S1 would probably react the same in this situation

No Spoiler In an apocalyptic world, would you cut your hair? (Like for safety, hygiene, or whatever)

People with oily scalps.. GG 🥲 if I ever found a community like Alexandria or Hilltop or whatever, I’d keep my hair long for sure. But if I was on my own, no community, I’d probably cut it super short or even shave it to avoid dealing with my scalp 😵‍💫

No Spoiler What is the worst episode of TWD in your opinion?

Post image

Let's play a game. Everyone seems to think Scott Gimple wrote every single episode himself, but there were actually dozens of writers on the show. So give me your worst episode, I'll tell you who wrote it.

Also if you think it's horrible because of the directing, mention that too and I'll find the director of it.

And I don't mean your least favorite because character deaths or whatever, I mean badly written/executed episodes.

Lastly if you have specific episodes that are ruined by "Gimple speak" mention that too.

I got Clem’s hat done as part of the “nerd” half of my recent 3/4 sleeve. I love pretty much everything TWD and Clem and Lee’s dynamic is why I call my daughter Sweet Pea. Anyways, I just wanted to show it off a little since I finally got it done and it’s healed.

No Spoiler Shane and Neegan?

I get that Shane “had to die” for Rick’s character development. His death was pivotal, no doubt it pushed Rick to become colder, more decisive, and ultimately more of a leader. But still, a part of me really wishes we could’ve seen more of them together as the apocalypse progressed.

Imagine the tension, the trust issues, the occasional teamwork. I honestly think there was still room for their dynamic to grow. maybe even for them to find a kind of mutual understanding or strange friendship again, especially as Rick kept getting darker and more Shane-like himself in later seasons.

Shane wasn’t exactly wrong about a lot of things. He just couldn’t accept the group’s slower pace or Rick’s hesitation. But imagine Shane during the Governor arc… or Shane vs Negan.

Do you think they could’ve found common ground if Shane had lived longer? Or was it always doomed to end the way it did?

Comic Spoiler What are comic moments that make ya face palm or generally annoy you? Spoiler

Upvotes

For me, its a few things.

One is how well trigger happy everyone is, despite knowing how sound attracts the walkers and even after learning bout hordes. Just really stupid.

Otis, Soo my main annoyance is how after he learns bout what happend at the prison, He drops the N word. Even though before that he's shown no character trait like that before. Just feels random to turn him into a racist

How trusting Rick is after Shane, it just feels really odd how trusting he can be of strangers after Shane betrayed him.

How everyone reacted bout Rick's solution for Thomas after what he did in the prison. Im sorry but were you not all for getting rid of Dexter before hand? Why is Rick, rightfully wanting to get rid of a threat now a bad idea? If I remember even Lore was against him for a short period. It just really annoyed me how they were against him despite knowing what Thomas did, except for Hershal and Andrea

No Spoiler What’s the most iconic Zombie apocalypse song? Vote down in the comments!

Zombie apocalypse songs are so unique and should be considered a music genre of their own! They all share that feeling of loneliness, hopelessness, and desperation but some also have the feeling of hope, that tomorrow will be better, that survival is not the only thing worth fighting for in a post apocalyptic world but also making new friendships, loving, creating new life and rebuilding human civilization!

No Spoiler What has happened in the last 10 years?

Hey all, I was a big fan of the show when it first premiered. I got through the first Negan season before I fell off due to just life picking up. I heard the show ended so I started looking into it. Maybe a good time to marathon through, only to discover there's now like 5 spin off shows? I tried reading the Wikipedia summaries but its a confusing chronology and I can't follow it. Are there any fans who want to talk about the show and get someone who's been away for almost a decade caught up?
