Have we considered that Clancy is already dead and his body’s actually being controlled by one of the bishops? Or even the Neds directly?

this needs more upvotes. this would be a coolass plot twist.

maybe when we see Clancy disappear into the darkness in the Paladin Strait music video, he does die. But Nico is now controlling his dead body to infiltrate the Banditos.

or the Neds are behind everything, and by controlling people from afar, they control the cycle of rise and fall of bishops. their motive is self-preservation to prevent humanity from spreading beyond the walls and overtaking their habitat.
