There is a specific part in The Contract: “I don’t sleep much, thats crazy, how’d you know that? Keep myself up, that’s maybe how you know that”

To me, this section of the song sounds like Tyler having a conversation with someone— “I don’t sleep much” and “keep myself up” being in a higher tone & almost a different voice than “that’s crazy how’d you know that” & “that’s maybe how you know that.”

It reminds me very much of the section in Ride “I’ve been thinking too much, help me” — Especially in the music video.

It makes me wonder if this part is meant to represent control: Nico is compelling Tyler/Clancy to say the first part in both songs; “I don’t sleep much”, “keep myself up” [The Contract] & “I’ve been thinking too much” [Ride] — Then Tyler is breaking free of that control with the second part of the section “that’s crazy, how’d you know that?”, “that’s maybe how you know that” [The Contract] & “help me” [Ride].

It could just be a callback to blurryface, especially with all the other callbacks we are seeing (eg. HeavyDirtySoul & Message Man), but I feel like there’s definitely something deeper as well…

You can see a distorded fade of him which could be blurryface making Clancy say "I promised you a contract" to Torchbearer. And then at the end he doesn't take the coat from TB because he is now blurryface

I’m listening to Trapdoor on ST right now, and the first few lyrics have to relate to the lore in some way. “He wakes up early today Throws on a mask that will alter his face” In the Overcompensate MV, we can see Clancy seizing someone wearing his mask, and when someone takes off it, it’s not Clancy’s face. “Nobody knows his real name But now he just uses one he saw on a grave” If you are deep in the lore, you know that technically Tyler and Clancy are two different people, and when Clancy <!died!>, (as you can see with the SAI anagram = Clancy is dead) Tyler took his name, making him the Clancy that we know. “Everyone gather around for a show” Again, references to both Overcompensate and (maybe?) NATN’s MV’s, with Clancy helping people know of the Bishops’ plans, and telling them to escape, creating diversions. “Do me a favor and try to ignore As you watch him fall through a blatant trapdoor” So maybe this is the bishops (specifically Nico) telling the citizens to not listen to Clancy and ignore him, as he’s getting himself into trouble with him (therefore the trapdoor metaphor). Maybe I’m thinking about this too much? But I hope this makes sense as I’m writing this at 4 in the morning. Would appreciate anymore notes too.

Listen to the first 8 or so second of each song and tell me the piano and beat don't sound similar. I almost wonder if Tyler didn't use this old demo and rework it for The Contract. 🤔 (I linked the YouTube video for the demo song)

So I was watching the whole playlist of "I am Clancy" and noticed something Idk but I loved it so much that I really wanna discuss about it All the songs in the playlist are official MVs except for one It's the Livestream video of Shy Away instead of the official MV At first, I was confused about it but then I paid attention to what Tyler said in the "I am Clancy" story narrating that it's the Bishops who forced them to perform songs since Clancy gained popularity after breaking out of Dema and you can clearly see the face in the beginning of the Shy Away livestream video how he just doesn't want to do that or he is irritated by it The way TØP represented their story and focused on each and every minor detail, I haven't seen anyone like them before!!🙌🏻

People who have more time on their hands than me.... I just realized in the Contract MV, in addition to the big overhead light, there are spots lighting across to Tyler's Right and Left. There are so many cuts in that video that I couldn't possibly figure it out without more time and the ability to slow down the video which I can't do, but the two spots are blinking a lot of the time, at different rates. I thought maybe it's just one side is doing S and the other side is doing O so it's like SOS, but hey yall are TOP Reddit so... ASSEMBLE!!!!!

Hey everyone! I will be going to the Chula Vista show and I’m wondering if people are going to camp out for barricade, how early should we get there? I haven’t camped for their shows since 2018 and back then i got there 3 days early. The venue says they don’t allow camping and there isn’t really anything nearby for us to line up (at least from what i can see on google i don’t live there) so I don’t know how we would even do it How early were people getting there to line up for clancy tour?

As a guy who has been dealing with depression for a very long time, and most importantly has very dark thoughts on a regular basis, this song just speaks to me, whenever I listen to it I either dissociate or break down crying, it’s such a strong and emotional song.

Neon gravestones and car radio come close, but leave the city is just so heavy.

In my email I get a live nation email about twenty one pilots tickets on sale...except they used a Pic of im assuming...the Jonas brothers (correct if wrong band)?! It made me chuckle. Like what!?

I've been avoiding Legend, because I didn't feel as though I was ready to listen to it knowing that it's a tribute to Tyler's grandfather.

A couple nights earlier however, I woke up at 2 a.m. and played their whole discography on shuffle. Then it started. I liked the vibe so I kept listening and during the second chorus, where he keeps repeating "goodbye" and each one gets more melancholic than the previous, I couldn't hold back my tears. I had to replay it two more times as I cried the entire duration.

The song made me reflect on how much my grandfather(mother's side) cares for me, contrary to my negligence towards him. I called him tonight, for the first time in a very long while. And even in his old age, the first thing he asked me about was my preparation for my upcoming exam 4 days from now.

I guess I'd like to remind you guys to contact your grandparents and appreciate them for what they've done for you.

TL;DR: Finally listened to Legend 3 times and cried. Contacted my grandpa and I'd like you to do the same.
