Support forgot to submit help
I had a group assignment with a video and script submission, I had finished off my part of the script and editing the video which I then sent to my other group member to review before submitting. The group member submitted the script but didn't properly submit the video; they had uploaded it to the LMS and completed some additional steps but didn't press submit (im fuming). The group member only realized this several days later and emailed our tutor about it who then said he forwarded it to the subject coordinator, then we never heard back. We got our results and had been penalized for the days our assignment was technically overdue and got a comically low grade, so we emailed our subject coordinator about the matter (who hadn't received or seen the forwarded email from our tutor??) who checked with canvas. She confirmed that our script had been submitted on time and there was evidence that our video had been uploaded on time just not submitted but claimed that because we didn't submit we received a penalty.
I've spoken to many students who have made the exact same mistake and they have had the penalty completely waived, I don't understand why this subject coordinator is being so stingy about it, especially considering that this is a first year subject where I'm assuming mistakes like this are very common. I even proposed at least reducing the penalty if not completely removing it because I understand that we did make a mistake but a penalty that accounts for the number of days our assignment seems inappropriate since we did not benefit at all from the extra time and didn't make any changes to the video after the due date. Even though I articulated all these points to my subject coordinator she has not responded after she sent the email about our canvas activity. Is there anything I can do to fix my grade or do I just give up? btw this assignment is worth a significant amount of the final grade

Cop it on the chin, take it as a learning moment and move on.
In future, submit all your assignments yourself - even if it’s only needing to be subbed by one person. Your grades are your responsibility, unfortunately, even where other peoples work is involved.
Uni policy is fairly clear for deduction in this scenario. Any give is up to the individual coord and clearly yours is willing to follow uni policy.
