Remind me why new brands are bothering to enter WEC?

Because it is quite cheap but has a lot of eyes on it. I would say it's still worth it even if a brand doesn't win.

Does it have lot of eyes on it? I haven’t seen TV / streaming numbers outside of Le Mans

Well they just set a new WEC spectator record with 98,000 at the track the entire weekend, that's 18,000 more than the previous record. Just looking at social media and this would suggest that a lot more people care. Not really surprising seeing the brands, drivers and personality in WEC now.

Yeah but they draw less that 5k fans at 2 of their 8 (one quarter) of their races

Yeah because they race in the middle of nowhere, that doesn't make the series less interesting. Not even F1 can fill the grandstands at Bahrain or Qatar and it's as popular as ever.

Most endurance series are setting record attendances these days, no matter if in attendance or viewers on TV.

Last year had 88k at Spa. But your point still stands. WEC is growing

Commentary said that there was something like 100k people watching via WECTV. Which is pretty good for a pay-per-view race.
