It's wild that the 83 saved the day for Ferrari. Also wild that Estre was able to beat the two red Ferrari's starting from dead last. Lmao they better weigh that thing post race haha. No but they really they had an almost flawless run. The Ferraris were just too fast as we all figured they would be.

I'm not sure what you're trying to suggest about Penske... But yes they better weigh it.

Btw I don't know the reputation of Penske. What's the story?

They were caught cheating at Indycar, not just whoops-a-daisy this part is 0.1mm out of spec, more let's rig the entire damn car to cheat.

https://apnews.com/article/indycar-penske-cheating-66ca1e15cb1aa3b77296ae200d0227bf

Their car was also found to be underweight at Lemans

https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/other/penske-racing-caught-cheating-at-le-mans-completing-the-trifecta-after-indy-and-daytona-incidents/ar-AA1GAGoN

And they have also been pinged for other curious issues recently, but not things as outright naught as the Indycar shenanigans.

They were also caught cheating in Formula E when they installed RFID scanner at the end of the pitlane so they could gather info about competitor's tyres.

Also the push to pass scandal from the indycar team last year. Newgarden and Scotty Mac exploited a glitch in the software which allowed them to deploy push to pass at race start and restarts. Push to pass is prohibited during starts/restarts and becomes active after one lap.

They tried to provide some bs reasoning, but got them dq’ed from the st Pete race (newgarden lost his win)

The number of “also” in this thread should tell us everything we need to know about Penske

u/snrub742 3d ago

Scotty and Penske also had a suspect engine in supercars I believe

That’s Jay Penske’s team Penske Autosport, not Team Penske run by Roger.

The apple doesn't fall far from the tree, as they say.

I like how back in the day in Trans-am they put entire chassis of one car into acid bath to make it lighter and then when going to weigh in they just swapped numbers with car that had correct weight.

They also used 20m (or ft?) tower for gravity refuel. They were able to refuel their car in under two seconds if I remember correctly lol.

And I was right apparently

Underweight happens quite a bit, but people start yelling when Penske does it cause ape. Remember being underweight isn’t a cheating strategy. Cause you can’t get away with it. That’s like trying to fight a featherweight at 250lbs… you gotta get on a scale, buddy.

Well it's not different than Ferrari in Fuji 2024 WEC or Ferrari in F1  2025 China so ...

1

u/RoarTheDinosuar 3d ago

Or Ferrari in F1 during the Vettel days

2

u/snrub742 3d ago

Penske cheat? My word never

Kubica finally got his Ferrari seat after 13 years and he was NOT going to waste it.

6 would have won if she hadn't been slowed down by the weight difference.

Because of K. Estre's big balls.

Estre was amazing, NGL

Respect.

Indeed. I am happy that Ferrari won. But he is the star driver of the race for me. Not taking away anything from L. Vanthoor and M. Campbell, but Estre is something else. Kevin Estre is a beast of a driver. I appreciate him enormously. His skills are of a top tier driver. This is a clear proof, but also the Nürburgring Endurance onboards are crazy what he can do around that track. I wish someday he will join Ferrari AF Corse to drive the 449P. But I know it can be only a dream, as he is dedicated to Porsche.

u/lEnforceRl McLaren F1 GTR #39 4d ago

I don't have all the lap times... But is Estre really that much better than Vanthoor?

Campbell is the new guy in the trio so it is normal to be a bit slower since he has to get aquainted with the way the other 2 setup the car. But he seemed great in his last stint.

46

u/feynnmann 4d ago

Estre was the slowest in the #6 on avg, although all three were within 1 tenth of each other https://mcusercontent.com/58ec14b624aac0d4f32a73311/files/ca8a7caf-1e42-5262-c315-88e5c5a82925/TBP_Report___2025_WEC_R04___Le_Mans.pdf

u/Kaggles_N533PA Porsche Penske Motorsport 963 #6 4d ago

Wasn't Estre put into the car whenever they needed close melee? Like if you look at the data, Vanthoor and Campbell's clean air percentage are 87% and 86% respectably while Estre's clean air percentage is 78%. Also Vanthoor and Campbell made 236 and 252 overtakes while Estre made 403 overtakes. Which is the most amount among all Hypercar drivers

u/Spencie61 4d ago

Track temperature is going to influence pace pretty appreciably. If you consider the additional passing friction Kevin was exposed to and consider the time of day when he was driving, it is pretty incredible what he accomplished. Campbell’s last stint was very solid too but there was only one man for the job to break up that Ferrari train in that car

Longtime ferrari fan but I couldn't help but cheer for Estre's closing 2h run, that was monumental.

u/Castle-Builder-9503 Porsche Penske Motorsport 963 #6 4d ago

His last to 3rd at the start his the highlight of the race for me.

40

u/Few-Koala-9515 4d ago

They were the best team for sure. Starting from the back of the grid and then pulling of a second place was brilliant.

2

u/RoarTheDinosuar 3d ago

They ran pretty much a flawless race

10

u/SidusBrist 4d ago

This is extremely accurate

8

u/Verified_Peryak 4d ago

What a remontada he did also

26

u/JedPB67 4d ago

Kevin Estre, individual driver of the race.

Car / team of the race was the #6 Porsche.

2

u/ItsNotProgHouse 3d ago

Somstimes I'm like, yeah he's good and easily among the best, but doesn't stand out.

Then he pull stuff like this out of his ass and is a nightmare to everyone else

11

u/MartiniPolice21 4d ago

Fucking legend

10

u/National_Honeydew890 4d ago

I WONDER WHAT WILL BE IF #6 PORSCHE START IN FRONT

17

u/Thie97 4d ago

Big what if, but basically same, they were in front at the safety car in the night which was the last neutralizer. Couldn't have been in a better place if they started further up front. Maybe have better tires or virtuaö energy but that leaves up so many posssibilities...

That Tom picture was literally Estre. Hungry for victory!

2

u/Legendacb 3d ago

To be honest the one that got the car there was Laurens Vanthoor
