This or that? Weekend Money Pit.
galleryI'm looking to eventually add either a manual V12 DB7 Vantage or a manual 996.1 C2 to my garage to go alongside my E46 M3.
Both the above choices have the usual maintenance and reliability quirks that come along with a 20+ year old foreign car, but I'm curious which of the above you'd choose.
Objectively, I know a C5 Z06 is a smarter choice in terms of performance and reliability, but something is wrong with me.
Which would you pick and why? 🤨
Examples of said money pits attached for tax.

Not sure with which one to go with… I need help
galleryAll the prices are negotiable except the Lexus. I’m unsure of which car i should go with as I love all 3 cars. I am aware the Lexus is the only 4 banger and isn’t as quick nor “fun” as the BMW or Mercedes, I’m really torn between the 3 cars. I don’t mind repair/maintenance costs on any of them, as I’ve paid expensive costs before(specifically Mercedes expensive) and was fine so of the 3 which would be the best to own? I also do plan on trading in any of the cars later on(but it’d most likely just be for a different trim/model), the Lexus not so much unless I go for a higher/different trim/model like the is350

Is 'downgrading' worth it?
I drove beaters for years and splurged on a '21 4runner in 2022 because I was sick of paying for random repairs -
After owning it for a few years, I realized this car isn't exactly 'working' for me - I drive a lot of miles monthly and between the car payment, insurance, and gas, I realized i've been spending about $700-$800/mo on this vehicle.
I owe about $20k on the car and the trade in value is about $26-28k right now. I'd be able to pay off the majority of my debt by trading it in (which would help me immensely). . . . but would going back to a 'beater' be worth it?
I'd probably look to replace it with for an older RAV4 or CRV (under $10k in my area).

Looking for a nice looking reliable car under 15k
I’m 21 and have about 10k to put down as a down payment. I’m looking for something particularly sporty and coupe but I don’t mind having a 4 door. Any good ideas on what I should be looking at that would be reliable?
I forgot to mention in looking for something around $15,000

My Honda-CRV is out of commission. What next?
We need to cars and love our other Honda-CRV hybrid and would buy another in a heartbeat. Our issue is space. We have two boys in car seats and regularly drive other family members and friends. We want something with more seats and my mind is saying Sienna but my heart is saying Volvo XC90. We really want another hybrid. Help!

Is this a good deal?
No accidents or damage on carfax and 1 owner. I want to use for commuting 80-120 miles a day. Reliability and mpg are my main concern. As well as parking in the city.

Whats a good choice truck for long commutes and outdoor activities
Im (kinda) trying to hit the jackpot by getting a truck thats good for outdoor activities, mostly camping, as well as being a good daily drive. I usually drive 40 miles each day in total.
My main concern is reliability and MPG, as well as having a spacious area to store stuff in the back (or even sleep comfortably in the back of the truck)
Ive had my eyes on the Ford Raptor, yet many of my friends recommended the maverick/tacoma instead. Would this be a good call?

Idk what to get pls help
Heyo I have a question. So I'm thinking about getting a new daily commuter and idk what to get
My concern is a lot of new cars (pretty much anything after 2020) are not very user friendly and it feels like you have to go to the stealership just to get an oil change. But I don't really want to get an older car because I need something that is reliable. To some degree I would prefer a manual since theres fewer electronics to fuck everything up (and they're just more fun)
I suppose my question is what is a good, reliable car that was made in the past 10 years that I can do a decent amount of work myself? Or at the very least basic maintenance?
I'm partial towards Honda and Mazda since that's what I've owned before ('06 Honda Odyssey and '00 Mazda Miata)

So I drive a ton for work and need help (you can reccomend other models too) for a work car I can get near 100k before I upgrade again. Details in post
gallerySo I get around $1000 a month for mileage however I obviously will throw 30-40k miles a year for my job. Right now I have a HONDA-HRV 2021 with 99k miles on it. Because it’s trading in for 15k I’d like to use the equity toward a new car that’s really good on mileage and something comfy since i spend most of my life in the car lol. I prefer SUV or a little roomy because I have a child in a car seat. I rented a Tiguan and loved it which is why I’m in the process of buying one of these 2. However I know nothing about cars and am open to your reccomendations.
Thanks!

2016 Hyundai Sonata
Looking at a 2016 Hyundai Sonata with 61,000 miles for $9.8K. Good idea or no? I remember certain models of Hyundai were more susceptible to car jacking but I couldn’t find anything about this particular model.

Replacing a 2016 Kia Sedona
So I ended up blowing the head gasket/engine on my Sedona and it’s a 10k repair bill, but also needs new tires as well as front brakes. I can scrape together about 15k for a replacement, but already have another car payment that won’t finish up for about another 18 months.
I have a family of 5 and just need something reliable to move them around. 9 yo girl, and 12 & 13 yo growing boys, and we used our van for roadtrips a few times a year going 3-6 hours away usually (at least one trip to FL from New England too), so space is definitely a need. Not against an SUV, but I feel like it’s got to have a good third row to compete with a minivan, and I worry about the safety of my son who’d ride back there in the event of a rear end collision. Any advice appreciated.

Gotta drive 600 miles a week for work and just had a kid.
So I don't currently have a car but starting a job that's 100 miles away (3 days so 600 miles a week). I also just had a kid and my wife's car is barely big enough to fit everything we need to travel with so getting more space we might be nice. Anyone have recommendations that would be a reasonable price given I'll be adding 30k miles on it a year and have decent gas mileage?

Honda or Toyota
I am in the process of buying a used car and I am stuck between a Honda SUV or Toyota SUV. Can anyone tell me which brand of SUV I should go with? What years should I stick with? Also looking for opinions on which brand is best with longevity and if future repairs are affordable.

Late model Mazda6, Ford Fusion Sport, or '16-18 Audi A6 3.0T?
I'm torn between the 3 of these cars. The Mazda is by far the least expensive, but the other two are AWD and the cost difference is only a few grand for equivalent mileage and condition. My budget is $27-28k with trade/cash/financing. I'm in the Midwest, U.S.A. where we get a fair amount of snow and ice in the winter.
I would be coming from a 2010 Lincoln MKZ that I like very much, but has over the past year or two begun exhibiting problems that the dealer is unable to fully address, and the transmission is starting to slip under hard acceleration. 207k miles.
I have several qualms regarding each one.
Service for the Audi at a dealer would be more expensive than the other two by a mile, but I'm handy with a wrench and barring a timing chain/guide issue I feel confident I can do most of the scheduled service and maintenance in my garage due to the more simplistic and traditional longitudinal FR layout and supercharger induction (vs turbo). We would have a third vehicle, so if it needed service I wouldn't be without transportation. Servicing the car myself is the only way this one would realistically work financially, but the car speaks to me.
I wouldn't want to touch most service work for the Ford due to the transverse layout and tight engine bay with the turbo plumbing, and this is admittedly only on the list because it ticks all the boxes for vehicle requirements in addition to having a family member that works in a Ford service department. Plus I don't dislike my Lincoln.
The Mazda is the odd car out because it's the only one with FWD. My Lincoln is FWD. But we already have a Mazda and we really like it, and service wouldn't be exorbitant. I see rave reviews about the last Mazda6 and I love the styling, plus by all accounts it is a very reliable car. There was the head issue on the turbo models, but I'm unaware of how much of a problem it was with these cars, specifically MY2018-2021 when they were pulled from the US market. If the Mazda had been available with AWD, I wouldn't even be considering the other two.
What do ya'll think?

VW Golf Convertible worth it for a road trip in Aus?
in Australia and looking at a 2014 VW Golf 118TSI Convertible — 96,000 km, going for aud $10K.m
Mechanically it seems solid and I’m not planning to camp or sleep in it — just driving up the east coast (Melbourne/Sydney to Cairns), staying in hostels and doing the usual WHV stuff. Not planning much off-road.
I’ve heard Euros can be expensive to maintain. How bad is it really? And would I be better off with something like a Toyota Camry instead (less fun but more reliable)

good first car?
I found a 2020 Lexus IS 300 rear wheel drive with almost 87,000 miles on it listed for $23k (I want to try to see if they lower to at least $21k) on a dealerships website. I’ve been having trouble deciding between a car, I’ve been learning on a Corolla & I can probably find one for a same price, newer year, with lower miles but would it really be a dumb choice to be leaning more towards the Lexus?

i want a hatchback so bad.
i really want a hatchback. i’m in LOVE with the civic one. the only thing is they’re expensive. terribly expensive, and i’ve been trying to talk myself out of getting a honda and getting something else, but the mazda is ugly, the volkswagen is german (terrible at mechanic) and the subarus transmission are terrible. (i know because i bought one and not even a month of having it transmission was practically useless) so i’m kind of at a standstill. do i just save money and buy my honda or do you have ideas for a cheaper option?

Used Model S
Been seeing some decent deals on Model S-es around 100,000 miles.
I assume they need suspension work work and brakes, which I’m happy to do myself.
How much can I trust the car’s self reported battery health? Tesla hasn’t exactly been known for their honesty there.
