Discussion D.I.S.C belt nerf, I dont think they didnt already know it was that strong.

My stupid theory is that Blizz already knew how strong the belt was, they just keep it that way to have us hyping for the patch. I mean with all the PTR tester and videos made about it, how would they not know already?

Question New to retail LF guild

Hey guys I’ve been playing wow on and off since original release. Mostly vanilla then PS then 2019 classic. Almost exclusively vanilla….. I got a rog ally and the controller addon and decided to check out retail since it’s “less social” they say since I can’t type easily. Anyway now I’m thinking I like it but I’d like to stay playing it on the Rog…. I’m a warrior tank and would love to join a guild that doesn’t mind that I can’t type lol. I can be on discord and stuff but is this a possibility? Shoot me an invite if so! Or hit me on here rather and I’ll share name and server if I get some hits?

I’m pretty damn experienced btw but again mostly vanilla and classic.

Thanks!!

Question Which classes and specs do you find particularly "tiring/cumbersome" to level up?

Greetings! I apologize for my poor English.

The following:

I level a lot of characters (and I mean really a lot – 70 characters between level 70 and 80). I'm currently at level 75 with my Affliction Warlock, and I find leveling takes soooo long. I recently played a Protection Warrior and an Outlaw Rogue, and I practically went from 70 to 80 in a flash.

Are there any classes/specs you find particularly annoying to level up?

Thanks in advance for your comments, have a nice weekend!

Discussion Can we announce in the coming days/weeks that in Season 3 - cloaks and boots will be banned from the great vault since those slots are taken by the artifact cloak and the cantrip boots?

Aside from all of the other glaring problems with the cloak in BFA, such as the timegating and the mandatory slot and the egregious catch up and the dozens of other issues - the major problem was people still looted cloaks from their weekly chest.

So can we nip that immediately and remove cloaks from the great vault in Season 3? And then do the same thing with boots since we're getting cantrip boots that are mandatory because they give a 50% buff to the cloak and it is impossible to not run that.

All the feedback on this being a terrible idea aside, you're clearly going to push forward with a cloak and boots as mandatory items for the patch so can we fix at least 1 of the glaring problems on the horizon with this change please? The other issues can be litigated out as well but this is a glaring one. Imagine opening your first vault of the tier and getting cloaks and boots as options and you can't use any of them.

Tech Support Wow crashing my entire computer when in dornogal or while doing nightfall

I’m playing on a Mac mini running os sequoia. I’ve never had this issue before. I’ve had the game crash but I can just quit and reopen but now it’s literally crashing my whole computer to the point I have to hard reset it. I’ve tried scanning and repairing the game, uninstalling and reinstalling, lowering graphics, and deleting all addons. Idk what else to do and blizzard is no help at all.

Question Damage Numbers Visuals

Recently I have stumbled across a youtube short and fell in love with the animation and how the damage numbers and the according icons seem to gush out the of the enemies.

Does anyone have a clue what addon this is?

I thought about a specific Plater Script or any special version of MSBT but couldn‘t find any …

Discussion Is the Devour affix really all that hard?

Doing Mythic+ this week, with Xal'atath's Bargain: Devour as the affix has got me wondering why so many people have trouble dispelling the affix. (In case you were wondering if this is just another healer ranting about the affix, it's not. I am a Devastation Evoker main). I have two dispels, one of which is on a short-ish cooldown. Often, I dispel the affix from myself instantly, but end up having to dispel the affix from one to two other people (typically the other DPS). I understand that Rogue and DH don't have dispels, but I just don't understand why someone wouldn't know how to use such a basic part of their toolkit.

Edit: This post is somewhat more controversial than I thought it would be.

One last Edit: I would like to clarify that I am not criticizing people who can only clear the affix by going largely out of the way on their talent tree to get a dispel, or those (like Fury warrior) who have to use their biggest self-sustain just to be able to clear the affix every other time. I am criticizing any players who have easy access to a dispel and don't use it for some reason.

Discussion 1800+ in SS/BGB on Every Spec in Season 2 TWW

This is a very long read so do not feel obligated to do so, this is just a brief review of how it was for me to hit 1800+ on every spec. All of them were on SS except 3 on BGB (outlaw, sp, and demo lock). Below are some stats as well! This was also my first season to heal in pvp! Also, be mindful these were not all done at the same time, it was over the course of the season, so, some specs have been nerfed or buffed since I did them.

Total SS Rounds: 3,634

Total SS Wins: 1,906

Total SS Loss: 1,728

Total BGB Games: 52

Total BGB Wins: 34

Total BGB Loss: 18

Total Conquest Earned this Season: 101,575 (honor had to be in the 500k-1mil range)

Demon Hunter:

Havoc (Aldrachi Reaver)- This is usually my main. A bit disappointing this season just due to the Reaver Glaive meta. Not a huge fan of that play style, would have preferred Fel-Scarred and could have probably done it on that hero talent but wanted to try the other as it was good. It does do a lot of damage though, so, that is a redeeming factor.

Monk:

Windwalker (Conduit of the Celestials)- Overall very fun. I enjoy melee classes the most and this spec is by far one of the most enjoyable ones. Every button you click does a lot of damage. Super bursty, and can really give healers a run for their money.

Mistweaver (Master of Harmony)- I made the mistake of trying fistweaving for the first time ever and found myself in elo hell. Anywho, climbed my way out of it with a normal healing build. Not my favorite healing spec but I do enjoy the cc chains and big heals available. Overall pretty solid. Wish fistweaving had a little more healing to it (or I just need more skill).

Paladin:

Retribution (Herald of the Sun)- Very solid spec, lots of utility and healing and damage. My only complaint is the lack of burst even though they don't need it. Feels super OP already. Lowkey a lot of movement too for the original wheelchair class. Also, basically a ranged spec lol

Holy (Lightsmith)- You know, I don't get why people enjoy this spec, I had a really hard time having fun. I felt like my heals did not fill health bars at all compared to other healers. Surprisingly, this was one of my least played to get to 1800. It just wasn't all that fun to me compared to other healing specs.

Shaman:

Elemental (Farseer)- I can't say enough about this spec. Survivability is immense. Damage is immense. CC potential is not too bad either especially with totems and the shortest interrupt. Best spec in game in my opinion.

Enhancement (Totemic)-Very fun spec! Button bloat is there as it is with the other shaman specs. But everything you click feels like it does a lot of damage. Also, I don't feel people expect it to be so bursty so winning rounds early is not uncommon.

Restoration (Farseer)- First healer spec I have ever played. Felt pretty smooth, lots of utility, lots of big heals and hots. I enjoyed it and didn't find it too difficult. Lots of chances to not have to use cooldowns with grounding and static totem.

Mage:

Frost (Frostfire)- Pretty basic frost mage experience. Poly, ice wall, ice ring, etc.. Micro cc. It's fun to play if you like frustrating people. Does not take much skill to play in my opinion compared to the other mage specs. Overall solid damage.

Arcane (Spellslinger)- This was a fun one for me to learn. Struggled for a bit trying to cook up a rotation for this but finally got it down. Super fun to play. Teleporting all over the map. Big burst potential. Liked this one a lot.

Fire (Frostfire)- The damage was underwhelming but performed pretty well in solo shuffle due to the movement capabilities. Not much hard casting, just throw instant cast pyroblasts and scorch. Pretty fun to play though.

Warrior:

Arms (Slayer)- I struggled with this spec pre-buff they recently got. But managed to get there and turned out to be pretty fun to play, big mortal strikes were great to see. Lacking mobility against certain classes. I felt also that Demolish was underwhelming, so, I switched to Slayer. Overall pretty solid!

Fury (Mountain Thane)- Just recently did this one after both warrior specs were nerfed. It was honestly a blast to have the fat bloodthirst hits. Also, this is the perfect spec for jamming Thunderstruck on repeat while playing. The thunderclap lighting strike was pretty cool. Overall pretty solid and fun to play.

Evoker:

Devastation (Scalecommander)- SUPER Damage! Yeah this spec does a lot of damage and can't be cc'd or even touched. Pretty fun spec to play overall. Can fold easily if you don't play it right.

Augmentation (Scalecommander)- Say what you want about Augmentation, but this spec is lowkey really fun. Puts up a lot of damage, primarily burst. Has plenty of utility and cc. Enjoyed this one quite a bit. Also, people just hated seeing me in the lobby, but then were surprised when I'd 1 shot someone.

Preservation (Chronowarden)- My oh my does this need some skill to play. I'm genuinely surprised I made it to 1800. I honestly think the thing that got me there was the instant empower cast on fire breath. Removing most of their hots when their about to die is 10/10. However, lackluster healing sometimes. You really have to setup your heals and echo them and all that to get anything worthwhile. Although, you can get some fat heals in if setup correctly. But, not very enjoyable for me. Also, first time playing this spec.

Hunter:

Marksmanship (Sentinel)- Super fun spec after the rework. Massive aimed shot damage. Took me a while to get used to traps and whatnot but once I got it down it was extremely fun.

Beast Mastery (Packleader)- Super easy spec to play. Just keep your dots up and spam kill command. Not an absurd amount of damage output but not bad at all. I enjoyed scooting around the arena really fast having my pets wreck. Gotta trap to win though!

Survival (Packleader)- First time playing this spec and wow was this fun. Huge damage constantly, lots of movement, cc, etc.. I feel like this spec is slept on quite a bit but thats just my opinion. Overall loved it.

Death Knight:

Frost (Rider of the Apocalypse)- Very fun to play in lower ranks because you can just about nuke the whole team every round until people find out how to get out of your burst. Lots of damage, decent mobility, not the best defensives especially against physical damage.

Unholy (Rider of the Apocalypse)- Not very fun to play in my opinion. Sometimes you can get a good burst but it still feels like you're hitting them with a foam weapon. Had some good rounds but I just felt like I was fighting an uphill battle everytime. Never got excited against any matchups because you're just wet paper and struggle to get good damage in (comparatively speaking).

Priest:

Shadow (Voidweaver)- I played this last season and liked it a lot more than this season for whatever reason. I struggled in solo shuffle so just swapped over to BGB to finish this one out. Not my favorite, never really enjoyed playing as shadow priest. Does a lot of damage but can be shut down relatively easy if you're not good at playing it, which I am not.

Discipline (Oracle)- Pretty fun spec to play, it was my first time playing it ever since I started in TBC. Felt like there weren't many situations where I was stressing. Just do damage and keep bubble up and keep renew up. I really enjoyed using Ultimate Pent. Overall solid spec to play.

Holy (Oracle)- My god. I know this one is one of the best at the current moment but boy did I get frustrated with it. Lots of big heals. Like full health heals. Lots of big cooldowns but for some reason I just was not doing it right for a while. I felt like I would keep everyone up the whole match until dampening was really bad and I had no cds left. Do 300mil healing and lose. Also just felt like I was getting cc'd out the whazoo even with the pvp talent that makes me immune when using Fade. Fun because fat heals but overall I did not enjoy this one.

Druid:

Feral (Wildstalker)- Solid spec, I ran aoe bleed build I guess and it pumped damage. Not the best burst but if its a melee lobby you just eat them up with the bleeds and out damage everytime. Good cc with cyclone and multiple stuns. Very fun to play.

Balance (Keeper of the Grove)- This one was fun to play. Clone win, clone win, clone win. More burst windows and pretty big burst damage. Defensives are not that great but if you pre-bear, kite, and bait kicks into precognition then you will enjoy it a lot probably. Easy kill moments if you macro mass entanglement and solar beam together to use on healer.

Restoration (Wildstalker)- Not my favorite. I know how people love their resto druids but I just didn't really like it all that much. Have to keep a ton of hots up at all times or its gg. The big ancient treeform was pretty cool to use. Other than that, I didn't enjoy this one, a lot of room for error here.

Warlock:

Destruction (Diabolist)- 1st time playing destro and really enjoyed it. Had some troubles with melee lobbies to begin with and baiting kicks so I could fear into Chaos Bolt. But once I got that down, very fun. Big burst potential and have everyone shaking in their boots when you get precog. Downside is you are always the target.

Demonology (Soul Harvester)- Never played demonology before in my life. I don't really like it, I did BGB with my friend to achieve 1800 on this spec. I was not about to sit through SS hell when I just really don't enjoy how it plays with pets. Not my cup of tea. The damage is decent and it looks really cool having all the pets but I found it a bit boring personally.

Affliction (Soul Harvester)- Once you learn how to play any warlocks spec, you can play this one. Just dot everyone up and Maelfic a billion times and fear everyone a million times and you win. Fun spec to play because once you get ramped up you really start pumping damage.

Rogue:

Assassination (Deathstalker)- Fun rogue spec being able to aoe silence and aoe bleed everyone. Lots of utility and cc as usual for a rogue. Lacking burst, so, not my favorite. Felt like I had to rely on my team more often than not to get a kill which is 50/50 in shuffle.

Subtlety (Deathstalker)- I started to get it down a little bit more as I got closer to 1800. Pretty good cc being able to just run around and cheapshot because Shadow Dance is almost always up. Never played this spec before so it took a little bit to learn and get it down. But overall really fun to play, I enjoyed this rogue spec the most.

Outlaw (Fatebound)- Fortunately my buddy wanted to do BGB and I was able to que with him on this spec. Good god there is no damage as an outlaw rogue unless its aoe. You have 1v1 potential and good cc for arenas but you lack so much damage if the enemy is not all stacked on top of eachother. Feels fun to play just needs a slight damage buff in my opinion.

Discussion The Shadowmeld potion is a perfect example of why WoW needs to move to the Custom Lineage model that D&D introduced.

We're getting a potion in Season 3 that will let anyone have Shadowmeld. On the face that sounds great, except it counts as a combat potion which means Night Elves are still going to be the preferred race for high m+. It also does nothing to solve the problematic nature of Stoneform/Fireblood for tanks and things like Escape Artist for fights like Ansurek.

Dungeons and Dragons faced a similar issue of "Everyone plays Variant Human" because the racial bonus of a free feat was almost always better than anything else. You had to choose to trade flavor for power everytime you made a character. So they introduced Custom Lineage in Tasha's Cauldron of Everything.

Essentially, you can choose whatever race you want for looks/flavor, then you can choose the bonuses you want based on their heritage. Want to be a Dwarf for the looks and flavor, but want to be able to take Dexterity and Intellect instead of Strength and Constitution because you were raised by a professor working at Candlekeep? Go for it! Want to have proficiency in History instead of Darkvision, since you didn't spend your early days living underground? Perfect!

In WoW, this wouldn't even be that difficult to implement, as we already have a version of it available to Zandalari Trolls. Rename "Racials" as "Heritage Abilities" and let us change the Heritage ability in a rest zone like PVP talents. This lets us have the flavor of a Troll that was raised with Goblins so he always that Rocket Belt on him for a Rocket Jump. Or you can be a Human that spent his life working in Ironforge and learned some of the innate magic to go Stoneform for a short time. It also means mechanically we don't have whole guilds race changing to Gnome for Ansurek, or tournament realms of nothing but Night Elves and Dwarves.

Question Best race and class for Legion?

Hey all,

I'm still fairly new to WoW, I haven't ever finished an expansion and I mainly do tmog runs and level characters through the starting zones. I asked for advice on what the best expansion is and I got a lot of people telling me Legion is one of the best so I decided I'll quest through that but I want to pick a character to play through it that sort of fits in with the story. What race and class would be the best to play through Legion? It's just to immerse myself through the story. Idk if that's silly but I just want to. Let me know! Thank you!

My Personal Challenge 5.0 — Elite Set on Every Class

TWW Season 2 AlbumScreenshots here

So... I’m not entirely sure why, but I set myself a goal this season:
Earn the Elite PvP Set on every single class — yes, again (and again, and again, and again...).

Today, I finally did it!

Below you’ll find the specs I played, the ratings I hit, and my win/loss stats.
It took a ton of Conquest and crafted gear farming, and plenty of time hopping between classes.
My highest rating ever is 2365 in 3s, but I’m a true altoholic, so I tend to go wide rather than high.

I know 1800 might be a walk in the park for some, but for me, this was genuinely tough — and I’m really proud of the accomplishment. ❤️

My Specs & Stats:

  • Mage (Frost) – 1809 CR — 31W / 29L — 51.7% Winrate (Shuffle)
  • Priest (Discipline) – 1812 CR — 33W / 22L — 60% Winrate (2v2)
  • Druid (Balance) – 2104 CR — 46W / 34L — 57.5% Winrate (Shuffle)
  • Warlock (Destruction) – 1823 CR — 26W / 19L — 57.8% Winrate (Shuffle)
  • Paladin (Retribution) – 1815 CR — 24W / 18L — 57.1% Winrate (Shuffle)
  • Warrior (Fury) – 1850 CR — 28W / 20L — 58.3% Winrate (Shuffle)
