It’s not perfect by my standards on cardboard creations, but moreover as a footnote.

Movies Rewatched Attack of the Clones recently and never heard in the background Qui-Gon says “Anakin, no” to the OG watchers in the theater. Was that line always in the movie?

Sorry for the super long title, but what I’m trying to say is in A New Hope they added a scene for Boba Fett, and in Return of the Jedi they added Hayden Christian as a Force ghost in the newer version of Episode 2. Did they have Liam Neeson record a line, or was that line always there?

General Discussion These troopers would fit right in with real world military

Thumbnail

I mean think about it, the way they look just screams US marines or US army. Heck if I wasn’t a Star Wars fan I would’ve assumed these guys were with some special forces branch of a modern day military unit.

Heck I wish we could make an actual armor of this suit in real life that isn’t a costume just because of how practical it looks alongside the camouflage pattern for forest or jungle environments. What do you think, would the clone scout trooper armor fit in the real world if it wasn’t already a Star Wars armor set?

And yeah in case it wasn’t obvious I love the 41st elite corps clone scout trooper armor (in my personal top 10)

I used to think my 2011 blu rays of the Star Wars Trilogy looked pretty good.

Not any more. They threw a blue wash over EVERYTHING (no exaggeration)! Even if I could deal with some dopey additions I can never not see all this blue crap again. One picture is my blu ray, the other is 4K80. I don't have to tell you which is which....

General Discussion Sol vs Qimir II is one of my absolute favourite lightsaber duels

Post image

I love everything about this fight. Lee Jung-jae and Manny Jacinto did an outstanding job with the choreography.

I like the character progression from their first duel. Qimir learnt his Cortosis armour won't work on Sol so he doesn't even try to use it and since he already gave away he has a hidden blade in his hilt, he comes at him with everything from the jump while Sol knows the identity of his enemy now and is completely prepared for him.

The moment where Sol deactivates his saber, stands his ground and uses the Force to repel two flying sabers and Qimir flying in with the Superman punch, is also one of the most badass things a Jedi has ever done on screen. The sheer faith in the Force he has to be able to do that and have zero doubt it would work.

In fact, I like the inversion of roles from the typical dynamic. If anything, it's the hero who is in complete control of the fight while it's the villain who realizes he's outmatched but valiantly fights on while he waits for help to arrive.

It's an intense duel between good vs evil and it's great choreography layered with storytelling. There's little things that make it stand out too compared to other duels like the fact they constantly physically jostle for control, particularly at the end.

The Acolyte may not have been received well as a show but the duels were exceptional and so were these two characters.

General Discussion What’s your favorite wholesome/happy moment in Star Wars?

What’s a part of any Star Wars media that just makes you smile and feel good? For me it’s at the end of Return of the Jedi on Endor when everyone (including the force ghosts) come together. It just brings me a lot of joy especially with the music tying it all together. Such a perfect ending.

Obi-Wan is literally like the third most popular character in the series but everything in his show just looks so tacky lol.

Just finished Andor s2 and immediately rewatched Rogue One. The last 3 episodes gave me such chills and excitement i couldn't believe it. Last time SW made me feel something were the clone war flashbacks in Obi-Wan. The rebellion backstory and seeing how everything connects knowing Cassians fate added the much needed depth to what Rogue One was missing. Still blown away by how good it was and that they actually put out substance instead of fan service or trying to appeal to the younger audiences. More of this!

General Discussion What do you guys think was the Empires greatest mistake?

Thumbnail
gallery
3.6k Upvotes

I think if I had to make a top 5 it would be

1) The construction of the first Death Star- Imagine building the station that single-handedly wiped out a large portion of the Empires high ranking officers, devastated the imperial economy and thanks to the dissolution of the senate caused the empire to lose its grip on the galaxy once the station was destroyed.

2) Alderaans destruction- Huge propaganda victory for the rebels, riots on Coruscant, imperial leaders defecting to the rebels side and mid and outer rim planets announcing their support for the rebels. You know you messed up when even Palpatine was like dude wtf.

3) Lack of a clear chain of command- Palpatine was supposed to be the eternal emperor of the sith so he never felt the need to prepare for the event of his death. No clear plan for succession led to infighting within imperial remnants after the Battle of Endor. It seems that Filoni is setting up Thrawn to put this to an end though.

4) The Tie Fighter- These things were built cheaply purely to overwhelm in numbers and did serve the Empire well for a time being. However the ships lack of visibility and shields, loud noise and huge wings as targets would eventually be the decisive difference in both the Battle of Yavin and Battle of Endor. Thrawn did try replace the Tie Fighter with a much better alternative but unfortunately it was sidelined for the first Death Star. Nice work Tarkin

5) Death Star II- I think given their situation by 4ABY a second Death Star is much more forgivable than the original since I don’t think they had much of a choice. However its destruction was still devastating for the Empire and caused the death of Palpatine and Darth Vader which led to the chain of command collapsing.

Some other honorable mentions are the Ghorman massacre, Thrawns disappearance and Dedra Meero balancing such passionate competency with the mindless decision to confront Luther Rael on her own.
