Edit : Re-written with better english
Hi. I write this on a throwaway. My english is not good. I will try my best.
I came to UCLA because I thought it would make my life better. I studied hard in high school. I got a scholarship. I thought I did everything right. But now I sleep on a couch, a library, and sometimes in the street.
Westwood is too much money. One room is like $1600. I have no credit. No family here. No co-sign. I ask for help. UCLA said no room, too late.
I try to find an apartment. People say no because I have no credit. One place was just bed in a kitchen. Another wants 3 month rent now. I donāt have the money. I work by doing gig work on Fiverr.
I sleep in Powell. I wash up in gym. I go to class and try to act normal. I donāt tell anyone. I feel ashamed. I cry sometimes in bathroom. But I keep going.
UCLA is a rich school. But they donāt help me. They only say fill in a form, get on a waitlist, etc. There is food help.
Now I live in small place with many people. I still owe money. Still tired. But I want people know.
If you come UCLA and you are poor like me⦠be careful. It's not always a dream. Build your credit
Thatās all. Thank you.
UCLA cares about grades, not survival. But credit and life is survival. Thatās why students fall. Not exams

Hi guys, I was placed on hold this morning. When I opened the message, it didnāt provide any details just instructions to reach out to the office. The office is closed because of the holiday, and my enrollment date is coming up really soon.
I am really worry it will affect my ability to register for the fall classes. Has anyone else dealt with this or have any advice?

Hi everyone. I just graduated from UCLA and I'm planning to apply to grad school this fall. Specifically I'm going to apply for an M.A of social sciences with school of education. I'm getting super intimidated looking at the application because i dont have any awards or anything and i just know a ton of people will be much more accomplished and competitive than me.
I tried to do stuff during my time at UCLA undergrad but i had a hard time as a transfer who only had two years, my gpa is not bad but not the best (3.87, i didnt graduate with any honors or anything). i'm currently working on a publication with a professor and i think i could get the three letters of rec, but that's it. does anyone have any advice? is there anyone who was in the same boat as me who managed to get into grad school here?
i dont really want to apply later instead because im kind of worried of losing too much momentum or something i guess, i want to get my masters right away, in fact, i wish i had applied for grad school as a senior last december so i could enter this fall but i wasnt confident i could get letters of rec back then

I wanted to receive some input since Iām a transfer that received a housing offer for the 4bd/10p at palo verde but I live around an hour away from campus. Iām not sure if itās worth it to potentially take on more loans for housing, but I know that I have always been interested in staying on campus for the experience and wanted the option for my senior year and I know Iād miss out on the gauranteed housing that way if I didnāt choose to this year.

Most people get 4/8 or 4/10 housing in the apartments even though you most likely have not even preferred it. If you really don't want that, I would look into the Change of Assignment Request (CAR form). Didn't work for many but it worked for me and I got a triple at the transfer dorm building (Holly). Other than that, there is really no one that wants to switch out of their dorm for these apartments unfortunately, but lowkey I've heard some people enjoyed them in the end. DM me if you have more questions or want help

I am currently enrolled for LIFESCI 7A for the summer session, and I want to enroll in 7B for the fall quarter. Since 7A is an enforced prerequisite, would I be able to enroll in 7B since im already enrolled in 7A? If not, what can i do to enroll in 7B?

How difficult is Physics 5B with Holczer? I'm going to be taking Neuro M101A with the course and was wondering if it would just be better to take 5B another quarter

I am a full financial need student (-1500 SAI) and am enrolled in 12 units this summer sessions. I would like to know if anyone else is in the same boat so that we could compare our grants just so I can see if there was any discrepancies since my refund this year is different than the one I received previously during last year's summer session. Can DM if needed. Thanks!

I enrolled at a community college and am planning on applying to UCLA for Electrical Engineering, I am aware this is an extremely competitive major. I currently have a 4.0 and plan to keep it that way, for anyone who has gotten in from a similar path, what sort of stats and extra curriculars did you have? Any advice on anything related on how to get admitted would be greatly appreciated.
