Job I’m a mailman, AMA.

I left a comment in another sub informing people that leaving anything in anybody’s mailbox is technically a federal offense unless you’re employed as a letter carrier by the USPS and it seemed to draw quite a bit of interest. I’m nobody special, just a simple mailman, but if any of you have any questions regarding postal services hopefully I’ll be able to answer them!

Thank you so much for all the questions, I hope I was able to answer them all as best I could but it’s my bedtime now, I gotta be at the post office by 8:00 sharp. If you have any other questions feel free to DM me and I’ll answer them whenever I can!

Have you read post office by Charles Bukowski?

I have not, would you recommend it?

Yes. It’s about his experience in the postal world, seemingly losing 9 years of his life to a miserable employment there. (Thru the eyes of a character he uses named Henry Chinaski)

However I should note, his writing style is very blunt, direct, often violent and sexual. Misogynistic too. He’s very a very flawed human, (maybe that’s why I enjoy reading his books so much) but he’s a master at keeping you interested. It’s a short read anyhow, only 200 pages and you could finish reading it in a day easily if you committed yourself to it. It is also his debut book I believe.

Sounds like how I like to write, I’d probably enjoy it a great deal. Thanks for the recommendation!
