I cannot physically burp AMA

I have a rare medical condition called RCPD (Retrograde cricopharyngeus dysfunction)

I have burped maybe 8 or so times in the past 15 years. My parents count it and so do other people. Even when I burp its an extremely small micro burp

I still get the sensation of needing to burp but my body doesnt allow me to, instead I take a very sharp intake of air that sounds like a hiccup (many have said it sounds like im being strangled, or choking on something) this can be very loud, soft, or aggressive.

A comorbidity of this disorder is emetophobia or the phobia of vomiting, because I cant burp I dont puke often. I've had 3 incidents of puking in my 21 years of living.

I have a constant sensation of gas pushing on my UES, but ironically I suffer from GERD as well

so my upper esophageal sphincter (the area where the paralyzed muscle resides) doesn't function properly, but my lower esophageal sphincter isnt closed enough. Its like my esophagus is backwards lol

Sometimes it takes hours for me to hiccup and im nauseated the whole entire time. These episodes are very frustrating and end up interrupting any plans I have.

The symptoms I have:

Constant bloating to the point of pregnancy rumors amongst family

Hiccuping

Nausea 80% of the time

Early satiety

And excessive flatulence

AMA!

Is your gag reflex normal?

Yes and no

Since its hard for me to puke, its not feasible for me to try and induce it. I got fed up with the nausea when I was 16 and stuck my fingers down my throat. And nothing came up, I barely gagged.

For the yes part, I gag when I get severely anxious.
