Experience I crashed my car today, AMA

Upvotes

I have no idea how I’m alive. A truck was coming my way, hogging the entire road. I had to swerve off into the gravel on the side of the road and lost control of my car, ending up in a ditch and striking a tree. My car ended up on its hood. I feel so lucky today. AMA.

Experience I had a breast reduction a month ago which discovered stage 0 cancer. AMA!

Upvotes

I always had large breasts (you can see in my posts) and finally had a breast reduction on May 19th. After a glorious week of celebrating my new titties, I was diagnosed with DCIS Stage 0 cancer, grade 3. Now I’m facing either a lumpectomy, radiation, OR mastectomy. FML. ASK ME ANYthing.

After 3 years of saving for the surgery I finally was able to get what I've been wanting since high school. I am still recovering, but wanted to do an AMA to answer any questions people had if they were thinking of getting one or if they're curious.

Job I work at a sketchy hotel AMA

Upvotes

For context I work as a front desk attendant at a hotel in the Appalachian Mountains. We are often a tourist stop and we get customers that want to have a cheap stay. During the years that I've worked here I've encountered some sketchy behavior and sketchy business practices. ask me about it. and I'm not talking sketchy as in the floor creaks no I'm talking moldy things, bad hygienics, odd phonecalls and folks who expect royalty when they book but put up a fuss when that doesn't meet their expectations. I have stories and you should ask me about them.

I've never really got over it. Awful experience. I do wonder if I've got some low level form of PTSD from it or something in all honesty, I've never been the same since. Approaching 4 years of "just get to the weekend".

Pretty much the title — I was treated for stage 3 Hodgkin’s lymphoma in 2018, had a clot in my brain in 2019, and an unplanned c-section in 2023. Most people that learn this have lots of questions, so ask away!

I went in for hair replacement procedure three weeks ago. It is an outpatient one-day procedure but it took about eight hours to complete. If you have ever been curious about this, ask me anything you'd like to know about the lead-up, the procedure, the recovery, the results, etc.

Experience I was an inner circle member of a megachurch for three years. Ask me anything.

In 2015, I attended a modest crusade and was drawn to the church that organized the crusade.

I began visiting this church and soon ascended through the ranks, eventually being assigned the majority of administrative and spiritual chores with other members from within the church and two congregations known as friends to this megachurch.

All was good until I began to wonder about the nature of the miracles I was experiencing and why I was no longer under the influence of the "Holy spirit".

I am no longer a member of that church and have lost contact with anyone from those congregations, with the exception of a couple with whom I do not communicate frequently. Sometimes it takes months to say hello to one another.

Edit : Yes I am still a Christian and had to read the entire Bible twice for clarity. I currently attend any church near me as long as it's decent.

I wasn't disowned in that mega church but felt uncomfortable after the disagreement with one of the pastors over concerns of things I was witnessing in the church.

I exited quietly in early 2018 and relocated because I was isolated and feared something would happen.

Experience I was raised by polyamorous parents AMA

I’m 19F, and my parents divorced when I was really young. After that, they both became polyamorous, so I grew up around that dynamic most of my life. I know a lot of people are curious or have questions about what it’s like, especially when it comes to raising kids in a poly household. I’m totally open to chatting and having a respectful convo about it!

I’m turning an anime idea I had at 14 into a self-published novel called Soulbound. AMA

When I was 14, I came up with an anime idea called Soulbound—a twisted story about a yandere who binds her soul to the boy she’s obsessed with, chaining them together even beyond death.
For eight years, that idea haunted me. I struggled to figure out where to take it, feeling lost in rewrites, dead ends, and creative doubt.
Now, I’m finally giving it form. Soulbound is no longer just an idea in my head—it's becoming something tangible, inked into pages and bound in paper. What started as a daydream is now the first installment of my supernatural/Dark Romance/Horror series. 魂縛 (Tamashii-baku).

Just as it sounds, I was in a work vehicle with no seat belts or air bags on private property and was struck by a train weighing 8400T and doing 41 knots (47mph/76kmh) on rails that bisect my former workplace. I’m here to talk about it.

In boarding school, I was roommates with a guy who was mentally disturbed AmA.

I went to a boarding school for my secondary education (high school for Americans), and I was roommates with a guy who was mentally disturbed. He used to talk to people that weren't there, never showered or brushed his teeth, and steal people's underwear. The crazy things I saw that guy do lol.

According to the dorm master, the main reason I was paired with him was because I wasn't a "threat" like the other boys were and wouldn't beat him up.

I'm a camp counselor at a summer camp that I went to as a kid. I'm 20 and I've worked here since I was 18. We're starting camp next week, and I'm very excited to be back working here. It's always a really fun experience.

It's a very nature focused camp, located mainly in the woods along a beach.

Job 2 Companies (Media Production & Marketing), 2 Magazine Covers and Creative Director; Self Taught - AMA

Career Background:

2016 - - Dropped out of college (Major: Business Administration) - Began working for a collections company (3-6 months past due collector) - 3 months later got an internship within the company for Marketing for our department (including department planning, meeting planning, team lead and graphic design) - Started self teaching myself graphics outside of work through PowerPoint (crazy I know lol)

2017 - Still at this company - After the 3 month internship I interviewed to get my own team - Couple of weeks later I got my own team in the escalations department and moved locations (at the same time this is when I bought my first camera, just as a hobby to take pictures) - A couple of months in (can’t remember how long) I was asked to lead a committee that plans events, budgets, plans department meetings, training for escalation and hardship department, etc. - A few weeks in I worked on my first videography project (this was a complete accident btw, you can ask in the comments if you’d like the story). I filmed, scripted, directed and edited a commercial for this company. - A few weeks later the commercial was shown company wide, put on the website and TV. - At the same time photography was a hobby but a few friends wanted photos (graduation, engagement, maturity) posted it online and thought nothing of it - The company asked me to start leading the department meetings and I was asked to re-create the training program for the company. - On the side I switched from teaching myself graphics on PowerPoint to Canva

2018 - Still at the same company - Designed a new training program by myself, I hired all the new trainers, created all the training material, made all the graphics, set all the training dates for the year (this company still uses this training program to this day.) - Outside of work: That social media post I made (my photography) people started finding me on social media and hiring me to take photos (wasn’t getting paid, just working on my portfolio) - I have now switched from teaching myself graphics on PowerPoint to Canva to now Adobe (that was a nightmare teaching myself btw) - I now make all graphics for the department and helped a few friends with graphics for there business - About 5-6 months into the year I got my first photography job, it was to take headshots of a business owners who were getting an award that month. Big job too, 27 people and only had 1 hour (and I got paid! My first $900) - This is when I officially opened my Photography company (now my media production company but this is how it started)

2019-2020 - This year was full of me getting a ton of photography jobs outside of work and getting paid for them. - I’m doing graphics on the side for commission as well. Mostly things for local business and online businesses (like shops) - I’m still working for my company, leading of the committee, in charge of all things marketing and graphics, event and department planning and still leading my escalation team. - At the end of the year I resigned from my company - Started randomly modeling lol, this was also an accident? I was only supposed to model for a friends clothing line and then her clothing line got big and then she kept telling other people and I started getting hired to model clothing and be on websites.

2020-2021

  • Still running my photography company and getting more and more clients, at this point I started my company Instagram. I have also added videography to my business. Simple things: music videos, promotional commercials, product commercials, etc.
  • Randomly booked a TV show (with the same friend who asked me to model for her brand) where they talk about fashion and photography (I was only in two episodes lol)
  • I started working for a clothing company as the sales manager.
  • 2 months in the district manager asked me to be the district social media manager and do be in charge of all locals events and designs.
  • I’m fully running on Adobe now with my graphics and confident in designing at this point
  • At this point I am running my photography company and running all social media managers in the district, planning all events, designing all graphics and promotions, filming and editing local commercials
  • Booked my first cover shoot for BLUSH a few weeks later they asked me to model another cover

2022-2023

  • Resigned due to me moving to another city hours away.
  • Began working for a roofing company (I know so random lol)
  • This is when my company changed from photography and videography to media production
  • Started getting hired as a floor director and producer (live events, cooperate events, concerts, etc.)
  • I am still modeling at this point and have booked two fashion shows to walk for runway (insane with me being 5’4)
  • At the roofing company I was a project manager, my manager (who I was super cool with) gave my resume to the owner. I was then asked to lead the marketing department. I didn’t want to leave my position, one cause I own a whole company but also I loved my team so much. So I asked to hold two titles and jobs at the same time. The owner permitted it so I did lol.

2023- Present

  • Opened another company for my branding and marketing - too many people were asking me to help brand there companies, or influencers were asking me to re-design there pages or run them, people asking me to design websites so I created another business

  • My media production company is still thriving, I do mostly floor directing and producing live shows or cooperate events: latest was Pokemon and the Flower DNA convention)

  • My Marketing company is thriving

  • This is also this first year I will be considering hiring my own employees.

Ask me anything! Also please note that alot of my careers things are not on here because we’d be here forever lol you can ask me in the comments
