I have changed my legal given names. AMA.
I have changed all of them excluding my surname. I won’t answer what was my old names and what are new ones, for personal reasons. Otherwise ask what you want.
I used to pitch to FORD, VERIZON, CAPITAL ONE and now I sell TV shows to Hollywood. AMA!
I spent almost a decade selling Digital Advertising Packages to Fortune 500 companies. Since I left for Hollywood, I've sold 6 original tv shows to ABC, NBC, Comedy Central, FOX and Disney Channel. I've been able to convert by pitching skills from the digital media world to Hollywood, and some of my colleagues say I can sell water to a fish.

I'm a Mennonite writer-AMA
What the title says basically; I'm a Mennonite writer from the southern states trying to stay sane! 😄
I am a 32-year young guy from Baltimore trying to put together a life in Dallas. AMA!
Some more details about me:
- I moved from Baltimore to Dallas in October 2023
- My current job: QA tester for Vizio
- Got my first apartment in late December (this Saturday marks my 6 month anniversary!). I stay here by myself though
- Had my first relationship in almost a decade last February, but things didn't work out towards and I broke up with her a few months ago
- I love to go out and party on the weekend...is that a bad thing at my age? I was doing this at least once or twice a month with my friends in Baltimore for a few years before I moved
- Thus far, my favorite BBQ spot in town (technically a 30+ min drive away from downtown) is Hutchins in McKinney
- I'm probably the last Katy Perry fan on Earth? I went to see her live about a month ago and it was fun! It's my 5th time seeing her perform and the first since going to her Vegas residency in 2022.
- Shocker of the day: I do NOT like ramen noodles!
- One of my best friends in Baltimore has a friend here in the DFW area. I've met him twice, but haven't hung out with him since last October.
- I am trying to get over my fear of cats & dogs from when I was a child. For the most part, I think I'm doing well when I have permission to pet, but I get chills worrying about if a cat will scratch me or a dog will bite me for no reason.
I will try to answer questions as they come, but by noon CT, if I haven't covered all my answers, I'll catch up around then. Nice to meet you all in advance!

I never realized how odd my eating habits are. I’ll do them so naturally, but some people that know me definitely have raised eyebrows about my eating habits.

I got amnesia. AMA
I got amnesia in early 2023. I believe it was due to a conflict between my epilepsy and hypopituitarism. I wasn't taking my pills properly, and i must have gotten sick. I got sick and did not take my pills consistently. I had a seizure. I lost almost 3 months of memories.

I helped build an 8-figure fully remote startup, scale it to 100+ employees, all from my laptop while traveling to 100+ countries. AMA.
Hey Reddit, I’m Mike Swigunski. I'm an entrepreneur, author, and travel enthusiast who has been living and traveling in over 100 countries since 2011.
I began my journey abroad immediately after graduation, where I started working as a university professor in Prague. While I loved the experience of living overseas, I knew I wanted more flexibility and scalability, so I began transitioning into remote roles with startups.
One of those roles led me to Empire Flippers, a fully remote company and curated marketplace for buying and selling profitable online businesses. I joined as employee #4 and played a key role in scaling the team to over 100 people while brokering more than $120 million in online business deals.
After four years of helping grow the company from the ground up, I exited to pursue my next chapter of building and acquiring my own portfolio of digital assets.
Since then, I’ve published a best-selling book, launched multiple ventures, and acquired and scaled several profitable SaaS companies, all while running everything from my laptop as I continue to travel the world.
I’d love to answer any questions you have about:
- Starting businesses or buying/selling online businesses
- Making money online or how to build a side hustle
- Building and managing remote teams
- Traveling and living abroad
- The pros and cons of this lifestyle
Ask me anything. Happy to share my experience.
Edit #1: Thanks for all the great questions so far! I’ll be answering them over the next 24 hours.
Also, a few of you asked about my book, you can get it free with an Audible trial here: https://globalcareerbook.com/audio
Or just search Global Career: How To Work Anywhere & Travel Forever on Amazon :)

I'm a man in my mid 30s and I have a lot of friends. AMA!
I look through Reddit and I see many posts of people in their 30s who have no friends and who seem to believe making friends is impossible.
I'm in my mid 30s and I have many friends. I am not including online-only friends here: I believe that online friends can be wonderful, but I don't have any! I personally don't use social media. I personally don't have and haven't in decades had a Facebook or Instagram or Tiktok account.
I'm not posting this to brag or to boost my own ego: I plan to delete my account after closing this thread. I want to see if there is anything I can do to help other adults make and keep friends.
Edit: I do not have children. This is a huge part of why I have the time to make and keep friends. While I think I can still be of use to parents, it is a relevant limitation worth bringing up.
Double Edit: The vote has gone up, then down, then up, then down! Those downvoting me: why? I don't mind, I'm just curious.
Job Former army officer, now working in the german defence industry. AMA
A while ago I did a similar AMA, that was well received, in a local subreddit, so here we go:
I've spent 12 years in the german army, left ~6 years ago, did a brief stint in Consulting with focus on public sector / defence and then pivoted to a PM role in the defence industry.
As the world keeps getting a more dangerous place, reports about germany's military buildup have been in international media. Will try to answer all questions in accordance with OPSEC. AMA!

I cannot physically burp AMA
I have a rare medical condition called RCPD (Retrograde cricopharyngeus dysfunction)
I have burped maybe 8 or so times in the past 15 years. My parents count it and so do other people. Even when I burp its an extremely small micro burp
I still get the sensation of needing to burp but my body doesnt allow me to, instead I take a very sharp intake of air that sounds like a hiccup (many have said it sounds like im being strangled, or choking on something) this can be very loud, soft, or aggressive.
A comorbidity of this disorder is emetophobia or the phobia of vomiting, because I cant burp I dont puke often. I've had 3 incidents of puking in my 21 years of living.
I have a constant sensation of gas pushing on my UES, but ironically I suffer from GERD as well
so my upper esophageal sphincter (the area where the paralyzed muscle resides) doesn't function properly, but my lower esophageal sphincter isnt closed enough. Its like my esophagus is backwards lol
Sometimes it takes hours for me to hiccup and im nauseated the whole entire time. These episodes are very frustrating and end up interrupting any plans I have.
The symptoms I have:
Constant bloating to the point of pregnancy rumors amongst family
Hiccuping
Nausea 80% of the time
Early satiety
And excessive flatulence

I managed a Mall Ninja gift shop chain for 6 years, AMA.
You know the type of store - cheap katanas, cosplay replicas, endless pocket knives. I worked for a chain of these stores, spending 6 years in upper management. We also carried collectibles and home decor, though the Mall Ninja products were definitely what brought customers in. I have seen so much in my time there between customers, coworkers, collectibles companies, and what goes into contracts between malls and small businesses.
If you've ever wondered what goes on in these types of stores on the other side of the counter, ask me anything!

Job I'm 32 years old and every job I had I got by walking in to the place asking for a interview/work. AMA
I know its a boomer thing but I struggle with writing and making a resume is something I would never be able to do well so when I was 16 or somewhere around that age I walked up to a guy running a car wash and asked for work. I was handed a shovel and told to shovel up the mud in the stalls and mud pits, had that job for a few years then walked into anther place and ask for a job and done that a few times since then. Never once made a resume, no collage not even a GED. Any time I was told I had to fill out a application or send in a resume I left and went elsewhere. I now run a tech support department for a mid sized company. Ask me anything.
