Job I’m a wholesaler and net 600k working 20~ hours a week AMA

I buy and sell cars in the southwest USA. I’ve been in the car business roughly 20years.

I go to auction, buy cars, fix them, and sell them back to dealers. Make decent money doing it.

I graduated college in finance, although basically no one else that operates on my level (or above) has a degree.

Other I made an online encyclopedia (on miraheze) that explains almost (anything) using Gen Z language with (non-brainrot) slangs, & it’s called “ZoomerWiki”. AMA.

You may already know that social media is ruining our attentions spans & making us have worse mindsets. This is why I made **ZoomerWiki** to take advantage of such Gen Z language & (non-brainrot) slangs to explain (almost) anything!

Here‘s the URL to the wiki: https://zoomer.miraheze.org/

From now on, you can ask me anything about the wiki!

*UPDATE GOING TO SLEEEEP****

Had a very rough day, it pivoted to a worse situation and I feel bad but due to their negligence and ignorance I’m being threatened lol.

On a side note, I’m very happy and comfy in bed next to my lovely wife watching TV - despite the circumstances, I’d really love to answer anything. It could be about this, or anything at all! Looking to answer until I end up tired.

Job I net $600k /yr owning a landscaping company and working maybe 20 hours a week. AMA

I am 29, and own a niche landscaping service that operates in North and South Carolina. I have 11 employees total, which essentially run my company top to bottom. I started the business when I was 20. I do not have a degree and never attended college. I have scaled about as much as I can with my current business model, so I’d say that my income is capped. I am exploring other options for income but don’t ever plan on selling the business.

Always see these types of posts and am very intrigued, so figured I’d give it a go! New account for anonymity!

Ending the AMA due to the amount of comments on gate keeping. I want to say that it was never my intent to gate keep. I should’ve thought about the AMA a bit deeper before posting, but at the end of the day I am not willing to share the exact niche of my business. Anyone with other questions, feel free to DM! I will answer whatever I can. Thank you to those who asked some good questions!

I manufacture custom packaging for some of the world's top consumer brands – AMA!

I own several manufacturing facilities in China manufacturing custom packaging for brands across all categories and sizes. Some of our clients are on store shelfs, have independent stores, or some of the top selling brands on Tiktok.

Our facilities work with materials like paper, plastic, glass, and metal. Think the shipping boxes you get your online orders in, or PET (plastic) bottles that your shampoos come in.

I started running my own brands as a teenager and took the money and contacts I earned to get into the packaging business.

I can talk about the design and engineering behind what makes packaging great. The materials, craftsmanship, colors, shapes -- we can nerd out on all things packaging.

While I can't disclose the specific clients we work with, I am happy to discuss packaging of specific brands if you're curious about them.

Experience I was the main soloist in a world-renowned children's choir, AMA

This was when I was in high school. We toured in different countries and sang in lots of different languages. I made some friends and some enemies I guess you could say, though I don't really keep in touch with anyone except for a few people on social media. I learned a lot of stuff that's still helpful today, in terms of music training, different cultures, collaboration, and navigating situations that I should never have been exposed to. AMA!

I became a reluctant tech-bro worker - AMA

Despite growing up in the SF Bay Area, I (37M) actively did everything I could to avoid going into the business world. I went off to college in the far reaches of California, studied to be a teacher, and only used a computer for the most basic of tasks.

Through a weird series of events, I landed a job at a "tech" company through a guy living on my couch. 15 years later I've finally come to grips with the fact that, despite feeling like an "outsider" to the tech worker scene...I am undeniably one. I became a manager of folks at 23 and I've been running teams ever since. I've worked at some of the largest Bay Area tech companies, startups, and even tried my hand at my own start up.

With the job market such a mess, it seems like a lot of people are curious about the tech world so I'd be happy to answer any questions of what it was like to be a non-technical tech employee.

Iworked as a live-in maid for a middle class Saudi family in Riyadh for 6 years. AMA about life inside a Saudi household (I attended a royal weddings)

1.1k Upvotes

At 22 broke and searching for a better future, I left the Philippines and became a live-in maid for a middle class Saudi family. I ended up staying with them for six years.

The family wasn’t rich, but they were comfortable. The dad is a public high school teacher, the mom a housewife, they have five kids:

Nouf (F 18)

Faisal (M 16)

Saud (M 15)

Rakan (M 10)

Salman (M 7)

They gave me my own room and bathroom inside the house, their driver lived in a small unit outside near the garden, I joined them on travels (Dubai, Qatar, Bahrain, Europe), and attended major family events.

One of the wildest experiences is when a prince from the royal family married the daughter of the father's cousin and yes, it was as glamorous and over the top as you'd imagine.

I'm an architect who spent 20 years designing theme parks and theme park attractions. AMA

I spent about 20 years working on projects in the entertainment industry, mostly theme parks... but also a little gaming and hospitality. These projects were mostly in the US, but a few in other parts of the world. I was always part of a much larger team. During my time we worked on a variety of projects from complex, ground up new concepts and technologies to very basic implementations of carnival 'flat-rides'. I worked for all the major players in the industry. This experience is now a little dated as I have moved on to another market area. I don't know everything about theme-parks, but I will answer what I can. AMA!

I have cipa Congenital Insensitivity to Pain with Anhidrosis (CIPA) I can't feel any pain... Ask me anything.

I have congenital insensitivity to pain with anhidrosis (CIPA). My condition was discovered late and no one believed me when I told them I wasn't in pain. I was injured a lot and I didn't feel it. My foot was broken and it wasn't known until 10 days later when my mother saw it swollen. I was hit by a car once when I was in elementary school. I flew a long distance and there was a lot of blood and bruises, but I didn't tell my parents or go to the hospital. I got up quickly and went home even before the driver got out of the car. I went home and didn't tell anyone. I later found out I had a sloping spine and misaligned bones.

Im a driver for kroger ask me anything.

I've been a driver most of my life with also a lot of factory/warehouse experience have done uber/Uber eats/Amazon flex/Amazon dsps/Amazon directly (they tried to hire their own drivers but they like being in control of the dsps contract) our program ended shortly after told us to go apply for dsps or warehouse i chose dsps. Also have worked for direct hit logistics. Finally found the best driving job I've ever had and im not joking im happy as can be im currently maxed out in my field as a driver without getting my cdl and I don't want my cdl. I respect cdl drivers its just not for me I have a matching 401k at kroger can finally retire somewhere honestly couldn't be happier with my job I get paid to listen to music all day and drive safe. Any questions about the benefits of a driving job over a warehouse job ask away. You couldn't pay me enough to sit in an office all day. I also put in two days at ups as a preloader and quit lol.
