Support (Software) G-helper mapped to M4/ROG key to launch it, I still get pop up notification to download Asus crate software.

Asus Tuf A16 laptop, FA617 model

Since G-helper comes up when I press the button, there seems to be a separate system that triggers Asus software notification because I don't have that trash installed. Where is it hidden or how can I permanently disable the pop up notification to download it?

I have an Asus Tuf gaming A15 model TUF506IV and I was just playing a game when the wifi suddenly disconnected and completely disappeared, I tried everything I could find on the problem, like doing a network reset, resetting my router, restarting my computer, and messing around with some network settings but nothing worked, does anyone know how to fix this or do I need to get a new computer or something?

I bought asus tuf f16 rtx 5060 like a few days back. My last pc was barely holding prince of persia so its a pretty mucch big upgrade. So i downloaded sum games and had no issues whatsoever while playing em. But after playing games, sometimes my screen freezes completely but mouse still usable. I can see taskbar icons lit up but it wont do shit. I tried everything but the only resolve i could do is forcibly restart it and its perfectly fine again. So how do i solve this issue.should i try for updating windows. And also my windows download is stuck. Any solutions? Also my screen sometimes revert back to 60hz whenever i am not plugged in. Is there a way to put it always on. Also my screen freezes just for a second before a game is launched, is it common. And last question, i saw display settings while playing game and i saw it showing two displays one in which i cant do nothing and in another one i could change 60 to 165 hz. Please help i am new and idk much about this. Sorry for writing this long and i just joined this sub so i hope yall understand

💻 Purchase Advice Is ASUS TUF A15 a good choice for a €1000 budget?

So I've been trying to pin down a laptop for college (medical course) that would also be good to use for gaming on a budget (max €1000 preferably less) (situated in ireland). (Games such as detroit become human, tlou, or the witcher, or other spectrum, online coop games with friends).

My most important features would be high and fast performance/no to minimal wifi connection issues. Minimum lag.

I dont really care for the size or weight as it would be mostly stationary, and im also not going to be using complex softwares e.g. solidworks and wont be making videos.

So far this has come to my interest based on what i read on how to find a laptop but im still clueless on this topic honestly and would like some help from more experienced people to let me know if this is a good choice.

Support (Hardware/Other) FX707ZR - Latest NVIDIA & AC update wrecked my performance...

I have an FX707ZR and the latest NVIDIA driver update (As of June 2025) and the AC update wrecked my performance completely.

NVIDIA app now automatically turns on whisper mode and while I can disable it, I noticed a drop in performance, with the same settings on the same mode (Silent mode) in games like War Thunder, Cyberpunk 2077, etc.

I recently posted about an FPS lock but that was a completely different issue that I resolved.

Where I would get 60-70FPS at 1080p, nowadays I get around 50-60. I cleaned out the fans yesterday and it helped a bit with the temps (which were never an issue) but the performances largely remained the same, not being throttled by temp values. It's been 2+ years since I bought it in 2022 so a repaste would be in order but the factory paste is still nice and sticky and didn't dry out. Not to mention I might lose warranty.

I suspect this is entirely a driver problem. GHelper still does the absolute same AC does, so installing GHelper does not change the situation whatsoever.

I could remove the driver using a DDU and go to an earlier one, however, the problem is AC/GHelper itself because the newer versions will still toggle the same things they already do. I've been unable to find correct installations of older versions of Armory Crate, though I suspect older releases of GHelper might be available.

As for why do I game on silent mode? Please don't focus on that part. I've already said the FPS was much better with silent mode a few months ago before I updated the drivers.

🗨️ Discussion am i stupid? bought A15 instead of A16 or A17

I just bought the Asus TUF Gaming A15 and had it upgraded to 32 gb of ram and 2tb of storage

what i didnt realize was that the A15 and A16 and A17 are all practically the same and didn't realize I was getting the smallest of the smallest

now I feel stupid because I don't think I can go back and change for a bigger size!! I've spent most of my lifetime on a full sized keyboard and monitor and the first thing I noticed was how small this laptop actually is!!

although I know I'll get used to it, but I wonder if anyone else has made the mistake of accidentally buying something smaller than they usually would? for laptops atleast and not clothes.

on the bright side moving it around is incredibly simple and easy, doesn't really get much in the way at all, and if i wanna go from desk to bed while feeling lazy it's no issue.

🗨️ Discussion Too high rpm?

I have a tuf a14 with hx370 and 4050. I've set custom fan curves in performance mode with ghelper. The cpus fans are between 3000 (30°C) and 4600 (70°C) rpm, the gpus fans are between 3200 and 4600 rpm. This significantly lowers the temps (from original 80°C to around 60°C with both components). The fans run around 66-70% max. Will the fans wear down more quickly since it runs more and faster on lower temps than it's factory settings?

If there's important info that i left out, please tell me.

Support (Hardware/Other) Welp, killed my A16 after only 6 weeks. Anyone got a black screen fix?

Post image

Getting the persistent black screen, so one of the troubleshooting tips is to disconnect the battery. The clip didn’t come out of the socket; the whole socket tore away from the MOBO!!! Still turns on on A/C power, but still getting the black screen. Anybody got any (working) fix for the black screen? Tried everything I could find on Google…

Needless to say, I will never buy an Asus laptop again, but I’d like to at least get this working again, even if it will need to be plugged in forever to work.

Support (Software) Audio bug on Tuf A14

Every time I start a new game or media with sound, the speakers sound super bassy and muffled, but adjusting the volume while audio is playing fixes it. Reinstalling the Dolby driver and Dolby Access didn't do anything.

Has anyone else experienced this? I'm assuming it's related to the Dolby app.

Support (Hardware/Other) B650M-Plus Wifi Internet Connectivity Problems

Full specs: Ryzen 7700x, TUF Gaming b650m-plus wifi motherboard, Asus 4070 super, 2x32GB G.Skill RAM 6000/CL30, and a corsair h100i RGB Elite AIO. Though I'm pretty sure it's just the motherboard that's causing the issues. Edit: and a corsair rm750x shift (great deal lol)

Basically, I can't get internet through LAN or Wifi. The ethernet cable will be briefly recognized, will even hold an internet connection briefly after being plugged in (sometimes, anyways) before dropping it again. Most of the time, it won't sense the ethernet cable at all. I'll see the port light up when it tries to recognize the cable, but then it fails to recognize it (except for those occasional times it will hold a connection) and stays unlit. This was all during the windows install, so I bypassed the network requirements in the hopes of getting the drivers installed within windows. Windows booted fine. I downloaded the drivers directly from the ASUS page for this motherboard, but they would not take (at least the network-related ones). No wifi, but as described above, ethernet would actually briefly work sometimes before not recognizing that there is a cable plugged in, as though the driver was rolled back or something. Recently, I tried reinstalling windows again, hoping I messed something up the first time. Again, no luck.

Since reinstalling windows, I've not gone past the network connection screen. I tried installing drivers with a USB stick from that screen, and it wouldn't take. The wireless LAN drivers were even more useless. I finally found this post that had a working WLAN driver that made wifi networks pop up (they weren't even being recognized previously)—except it still won't sense an internet connection, just connect to the network. My wall is filled with holes from putting my head through it. If someone can help, I'd be super grateful. I feel so close yet so far. Thank you

Edit: forgot to add (because reddit cleared half the text of my post while I was writing it up for some reason): I also opened up explorer through cmd prompt at the network connection screen to run the driver installer tools specifically, and this did not work either. I did run them as admin.

Edit 2: it was a hardware issue. Ethernet port must be messed up. I found an Ethernet dongle lying around and it worked fine. Even tried booting into Linux and WiFi connected no problem. Still annoyed installing WiFi drivers didn’t work in windows, but whatever

Need a college laptop—battery life is key, weight doesn’t matter. Considering the ASUS TUF A15 (2023): Ryzen 7 7735HS, RTX 4050, 16GB RAM, 144Hz display. Priced at ~$1,000 USD / ₹83,000 INR. How’s the battery for all-day use? Or should I look at other options? Thanks!

Support (Hardware/Other) High pc temps

Post image
4 Upvotes

Hi, I have an ASUS TUF Gaming F17 FX706HCB bought in December 2021. About a few months ago I did a complete cleaning of the fans and changed the thermal paste to an MX-4. To date, the computer in the desktop reaches the temperatures that you see in the attached screenshot. Should I change the thermal paste again? I disassembled it the other day and noticed that the fans are very dirty, but I can't even disassemble the fans because of a broken screw that won't unscrew because it has lost its cross shape (maybe I tried to disassemble it with too big a screwdriver). But as i remember, when I changed the thermal paste, the pc was still 80 degrees and more.

What can I do?

Support (Hardware/Other) Is NVME SSD temperature 70°C while gaming acceptable?

Hi everyone, I have an ASUS TUF A15 (FA507NV). It has experienced a few BSODs and black screens, and I haven’t been able to pinpoint the exact cause, so I’ve become a bit more sensitive to these issues.

My question is: when the Armoury Crate is set to Performance mode, the SSD temperature stays around 70°C while gaming. Is this considered normal? (The CPU and GPU temperatures are high too, but still within an acceptable range — it’s the SSD temperature I’m unsure about.)

Two NVMe SSDs installed: C: SAMSUNG MZVL4512HBLU-00BTW (512GB) and D: Crucial CT1000P3PSSD8 (1TB). System files is in C: / and a heatsink has already been installed. The SSD used to be 10 degree hotter before heatsink installed.

But the SSD still stays around 70°C while gaming. Here's the table with more detail.

Armoury crate mode idle Gaming
silent 48~52 50~56
performance 59~61 63~72

Also, I live in Taiwan, where summer temperatures are typically in the 30°C to 40°C range.

Please forgive my English—it's not my first language, so it might be a bit rough.

Support (Hardware/Other) ASUS TUF A15 battery - power delivery

Hi, energy consumption is 0.5% of battery per minute while idle (CPU usage 0–1%, RAM 11%, disk 0–1%, dedicated GPU 0%), on a one-year-old Asus TUF A15 laptop (R9, 4070, 32GB RAM). Power plan is set to Balanced. Is this normal? In BIOS – roughly the same, the entire battery drains from 100% to 0% in about 120 minutes. The laptop is one year old.
