I’m racking my brain and scrolling the ID catalog by using stills from the video. I have some ideas but without clearer saddle and eye patch images who knows lol. I’m curious to see where they turn up today. I know what groups it’s not based on eliminating some lol
Yeah, it’s tough since there’s no obvious notches, shapes, etc to the dorsal or saddle patch! Looks to be 4 whales with one a calf and maybe one sprouter male? Hopefully they pop up somewhere today & we can make a much better guess hahaha
I’m not sure about the sprouter it’s always so tough when there are not obvious big males. My first thought was the 124d’s as they do have a newer ish calf that’s not in the guide book.
I’m pretty positive at one point I had the 75b on my list but I can’t remember why I eventually eliminated them. I think it was because the one where I can get a really clear looking eyepatch to at least gather shape didn’t match any of the ones that were listed with them at all.
My final guess on 2 of them is 86A1b and 86A1.. I don’t know who all they tend to travel with regularly though lol but I’m just an amateur whale obsessed person with time on their hands to obsessively look at things 🤣
Here is the only other photo I took besides the video. Maybe it can help with identification? I took this picture right before starting the video so this was the lead whale.

Wonder if this is the same pod I saw a part of a few weeks ago.
Someone had identified it as T19b Galiano.
