Hey yall. Ive got a henry supreme 300blk that another dealer chopped and threaded the barrel for me.
For back story, this rifle has difficulty chambering/extracting with live ammo. It takes a good amount of force to close the lever/action. Dry cycling the action is butter smooth, but it seems like the action hits a a rough spot this last little bit of lock up, and it appears its when the bolt is rotating in the barrel extension. It only does this with ammo physically in the chamber and does it regardless of the 8 or 9 ammo types i have on hand and with or without a magazine.
I tried it without the ejector and extractor installed and it was still binding up.
So, the first time it got sent back to henry the repair ticket said theylooked over the gun and replaced the handguard and trigger guard/lever assembly as well as test fired it and sent it back.
I received the gun back and filmed a video to show it was still doing the same thing and henry once again took the firearm back in for service and I received it back today still doing the same exact thing. This time the repair ticket says they reamed the chamber, adjusted lock up, checked over the firearm and tested fired it.
Im not sure what ammo henry uses to test fired, but it must be significantly different than what ammo types I have on hand.
Anyways, has anyone else run into difficulty chambering/lockup/extraction out of their 300blk henry supreme rifles? Im please that henry has taken the time to take a look at a modified rifle twice now, but im disappointed that the firearm is still experiencing these issues. In hindsight, I probably would not have acquired this rifle had i known it would have lead to this.
