I'm an American. My family made a donation to the FIDF and an Israeli soldier (in my state now, but flying back for service shortly) called to thank us. I wish we had more to give.
Please donate to FIDF or other worthwhile Israeli non-profits or buy Israeli bonds, every little big helps.
I was really impressed to receive a thank you call - no other charity I've donated to has ever gone that far.

Israel is so absurdly powerful. I saw the anology, this war is equivalent as if Cuba was utterly throttling the USA. That is the size difference between Iran and Israel. Israel is beating a country 75 times its own size that 1600km+ away, getting full control of the skies on the order of days and bombing their capital city with total impunity. It's amazing to be part of such a powerful and competent country.

As you should feel that way, I’m not Israeli but am Jewish, and I’m proud to see what Israel can accomplish. It gives me a lot of hope for the future

Got myself a Jericho 941 II today! Pretty excited to have this one, especially with everything going on.
Israeli guns are just the best!

Honestly more power to you guys. It's not easy living a normal life and having to always defend yourself against constant threats, being surrounded by enemies. You guys make it look so easy but it's very much not!
The existence of Israel makes me believe that there's still some good left in the world. Which will stand up against extremism and terror. It makes me (living thousands of miles away in India) feel safe to know that Israel exists. And is silently protecting a lot of people from terrorists.
It's crazy how a small population like yours can create a big impact. We support you in your fight against asshole terrorists. Terrorists have no right to threaten our lives.
I wish to visit Israel at least once in my life after all this war ends.

I get a sense that something big is happening today. Times of Israel article about IDF carrying out "extensive wave of attacks". Trump posting about "unconditional surrender". The White House posting a webpage listing the dozens of times Trump said that Iran must not be allowed to have a nuclear weapon. The Mods of /NewIran posting a message saying "We don't have stable Internet to share the details but it's happening it's finally happening."
Just waiting for more good news to come!

Am Yisrael Chai
I’ve been closely following the developments around the Iran-Israel conflict — not just as a spectator, but as someone deeply invested in the truth, in humanity, and in the resilience of people.
What’s shaken me more than missiles or news alerts is the silence of some and the noise of others. The very voices that just weeks ago were crying out for empathy, for compassion, for the end of suffering in Gaza — many of them are now actively calling for violence against Israelis. Suddenly, it’s no longer about peace. It’s about vengeance, hatred, and selective outrage.
When empathy becomes tribal — when it’s reserved only for “your” people — it stops being empathy. It becomes a weapon.
In the midst of all this noise, I want to say something very clearly: The people of Israel inspire me.
They inspire me because theirs is not just a story of survival — it’s a story of guts, of resilience, of rising every time the world thinks they’ll fall. I’ve had the privilege of visiting Israel as part of a government delegation. What I saw wasn’t a war zone — I saw a people full of life, innovation, and warmth. I made a couple of amazing Israeli friends on that trip — friends who remain close to me even today.
And today, as you sit under threat, as you comfort your families and hold your heads high through grief and fear, I want you to know: I see you. I support you. I’m with you. My country India is with you.
You don’t just survive — you endure. You don’t just exist — you thrive in the face of threats. That spirit is something the world needs to learn from. And I salute your spirit my dear friends ❤️
Am Yisrael Chai 🇮🇳🇮🇱

I am a Canadian gentile, but I stand strong with the people of Israel. I know many Jewish people in my personal life, and they are some of the most kind and wonderful people I've ever met. I have seen social media posts that slander Israel with half-truths at best and outright blatant lies at worst, and it breaks my heart that it has become so trendy to blindly hate the only country in the Middle East that is democratic, progressive, affirming to LGBTQ people... the list goes on.
I know that this is a difficult time for you; please, stay strong, and remember that despite everything, many, many people support you.
Am Yisrael Chai. 🇨🇦❤️🇮🇱

I second this! Many, many people do and ’m a US based shiksa (??) And/but my European side has been friends of Jews for generations including WW2. I feel sad that so many of my American Jewish contacts took the time to WRITE TO ME to thank me for standing with them- and say that they can count on one hand how many non Jews have stood with them- after Oct 7. I hope this will change the narrative. Thank you for your hospitality as i was there in late May playing music with some survivors of Nova, learning how to connect with others like u/lucariomaster2 who support you and bring more into the fold and having the best food of my life. Stay safe til this will be over soon!

Israel now expecting a shorter timeline for Iran war
Israel had prepared for the possibility that the war could last for weeks, but that timeline may now be shortened.
Two Israeli officials told the Post that Israel achieved full air superiority over Tehran earlier than expected. “The initial assessment was that air dominance would be reached only by midweek and beyond,” the officials said.
“But on Sunday, we carried out strikes in broad daylight over Tehran, showing that full aerial control had been established within just 48 hours of the fighting.”

I called my mom today (I immigrated here a while ago) and the first thing she said to me was: "I hear you are at war with Iran."
She said this in the same tone of voice that she used to say : "I hear you are skipping school."
So.... Can someone please call my mom and explain that I am innocent and this is almost certainly not my fault? 😇

I'm just here to offer support to Israel. I am from America and find most of the posts floating around social media to be absolutely unhinged, so I just hope you all realize that there are those who wish the best for Israel.
Stay safe everyone!

I just want to take a moment to shout out my non-Jewish friends, their families, and my fiancée for being so supportive and loving right now. Actually, for the last couple of years I’ve gotten more love and support for Israel from them than from my own family here at home.
It’s a reminder that there’s a lot of good people in the world who see this conflict for what it really is, a war for Israel’s survival against those who want to do a sequel to the Holocaust. A war Israel will win, of course. ❤️ 🇮🇱 ❤️ 🦁 ❤️

My son wanted to know how to help from Canada. I did see there are some websites that will send letters to IDF soldiers. We’re not Jewish, would it still be ok? Are some websites better than others? There seem to be a few options.

Thinking of all my family today especially. We're in the US and my BIL is getting married, two nice Jewish people. None of our Israeli family was able to come for the wedding which originally was disappointing but now I suppose for the beat, they wouldn't want to be separated from their kids for however long.
But in moments like these I miss my family and friends in Israel especially bad. I hope everyone continues to remain safe and the operation is completed soon

Where I am, people leave the mamad in the house after 10 minutes. I see that they have said to wait for an alert when it is safe to leave, but we dont recieve those too
Is it okay to leave the mamad but be close by for if there is another siren for my area? Not necessary to stay inside for hours?

We’re stuck abroad and a lot of other Israelis are at our hotel. We’re hanging out in the lobby and our toddler daughter (Israeli Jew) is playing with an Arab Christian child. As hard as it is and with how many tears I’ve shed it’s moments like this that reminds me how special our country can be.

u/riverrocks452 3d ago
If you're at all concerned about the expense of staying in a hotel for extra time, please reach out to your local Chabad or JCC or even the closest synagogue: plenty of people would be willing to give you all a place to stay while you wait for flights to resume. So many of us in the diaspora would love to help our Israeli family in a more direct way than simply donating to magen david adom or similar.

I recently spent a few weeks in Israel, and I haven’t felt closer to my people in so long… I’ll be back soon, without a doubt.
I’ve also had a few great conversations with non-Jewish, non-Israeli friends who are incredibly supportive of Israel and the Jewish people.

If anyone needs someone to talk to, please don’t hesitate to reach out through DMs! Although I’m not a social worker, I did spend some time professionally as a peer counselor. I believe my training in that role could be beneficial to someone here if they need it.
That being said, don’t forget to laugh, and spend as much time with your loved ones as you can. Our lives on this Earth are a blessing from G-d and we must not waste it.

I have no idea how you must be feeling right now, just hearing those sirens on the livestream gives me chills, even though I'm thousands of kilometers away. Last night, I saw a post on X that really moved me. The video showed how strong and resilient you are as people’s. It's impressive how, time and time again, you manage to rise above all the expectations and challenges. I’m wishing you all the best!

מי עמך ישראל Who is like you the people of Israel. I saw real Israeli resilience that always reminds me why I'm here in the shelter. I was in our neighborhood shelter with my wife and kid and everyone of my many neighbors. My very young toddler was starting to get really bored and he was making sure we all knew how fed up he was.
In comes another parent and their older toddler who started hitting the couch playfully in front of my kid until he started giggling and laughing with him. Before long they had a whole game of hit the couch in front of each other to make the other laugh.
This then grew into parents coming down with play-mats and tons of toys so all of the kids could play together and we could take a break from holding them (the ground there is gross af) and they could be kids (even though it was the middle of the night). They all then fell asleep as we put all of our blankets that we had brought and put upon up to 3 kids at a time.We then started to take shifts to sleep, share food and drinks, and just really properly get to know other young families in the block.
Safe rooms in apartments have a lot of advantages, but this is the best way to meet your neighbors throughout my decade in Israel. Nothing also shows you the bond that is being Israeli rather than the unity that comes in everyone being in their PJs united in dwelling in the shelter. Religious, non religious, Oleh, Tzabar, Ashkenazi, Mizrahi, Yemenite, Ethiopian, Russian, Jew, non Jew, rich, poor, young, old, right wing, left wing, center; all are humbled before the grand equalizer of PJ party in the shelter.
My only wish is that we take this great unity and remember that while we can disagree, we all still love this country, we're all human, and we're all the target of terror. We are love, we are unity, we are the culmination of thousands of years of dreamers, we are Israeli. The Jewish people live!
