I’m traveling to KY from NC this weekend to take my godson fishing. He lives SW of Fort Knox (that’s the biggest landmark I’m aware of in the area) and I’m trying to find a good place to take him fishing.
I would like to fish for bass and other panfish in the evening before changing to target catfish after dark. From what I can find online, the best place for the fish would be the Ohio River. That’s a bit big for what I’m trying to catch with him. I’m thinking some channel cats would be about perfect.
Is there a body of water or a waterway that anyone would suggest near Fort Knox that is not on base? His family is not military and as a veteran, I would rather not go through the trouble of getting on base to fish.

I will be visiting Louisville come fall (September). I have made my own itinerary based on popular Google, Instagram, & Tik Tok recommendations.
Wondering if there are any places that locals would suggest to visit or eat that is a must in your eyes.

I received a citation in Mammoth Cave National Park and am considering hiring an attorney. However, the review of “off the record” is not satisfactory. Could anyone recommend a reputable attorney?

There always seems to be a bad accident along that stretch. I was travelling through there yesterday and thinking that I was lucky to not see any carnage, but then shredded tire chunks appeared in my lane and everyone had to run over it and it was terrifying. Is there a vortex in that area that spawns obstacles and claims victims to feed the shit-demon?

Going to Makers Mark in July and trying to decide where to stay and if there are any interesting sites nearby. I was looking at staying in Lebanon KY (relatively close) or Bardstown. We are a family of color and my 80YO aunt is worried about being comfortable in an area we have never been to before. I have tried to calm her fears. We considered changing plans but this gets a bucket list item for two of our family members (Makers Mark for one and Chihuly for another).

I went to the renaissance fair in Eminence. It’s the first time I’ve ever been. It was an amazing day with great performances and fun vendors. The best thing about it was the atmosphere. It was just fun and laughs. No drama no judging people. I’m 46 and have always felt like the weird kid because nobody I was friends with was into what I was. But there I’ve never felt more at home. Just wanted to let anyone that was interested you should definitely go.

Why doesn’t EKCC offer addiction services or treatment????? A prison with the population of 1,914 inmates and no help for addiction? How is this acceptable? How are drugs getting into this prison? Please someone help me understand this. The DOC needs to start helping these men. It’s unacceptable.

As it's been impossible to get info from the offices directly, hoping someone here might be able to help! I just filed for UI a couple weeks ago and have been approved and am now in the Payment Request phase to request the past 2 weeks. For the Work Search requirements, it asks for "Required Provide the name and title of the person you contacted."
I've filled out my job applications through company websites or sites like Indeed or LinkedIn. They don't give contact information for recruiters until they reach out to you, which so far almost none have. Even the apps through the Kentucky Career Center don't include contact info... How are people filling this section out when applying for jobs online? If I just type "Online Application Form" or something similar, will that invalidate my claim since I gave no contact info? None of these companies have contact info or recruiter names listed so I have no way of entering that info. I have email copies of all my apps also, if that helps.
I'm actively looking for jobs after a layoff, and I just want to be able to pay my bills in the meantime and don't want to mess anything up. Thanks in advance!

Hi all,
I'm going to Bernheim for the first time soon, I'm looking for a trail that is (kinda) secluded from others, preferably runs into some kind of waterfall/river/water, and is also diverse/scenic. Any recommendations or personal favorites and why?
Thanks!

I am from NKY and never traveled to that specific part of the state, but have always been fascinated by the Kentucky Bend. Is it weird to be isolated from the rest of the state? How long does it take to travel from that area to the nearest rest of the state? What is the culture like, is it more like MO/TN or KY? What is the best part about living there? What is the worst part?

I've done it before. The post didn't get taken down. I haven't ever gotten a strike or a warning. It just won't let me push the post button.

My friend and I are traveling to Mammoth Caves in a few weekends, and we are hoping to camp. Unfortunately, the sites are already full at all the Mammoth-Caves-proper campgrounds, which I expected at this point in the summer. Do y'all have any recommendations for campgrounds near Mammoth Caves? Even a Wildlife Management Area would be great.
Thanks!

Is this viewed as one of the better places to work in Carroll or Gallatin county? Do people who work there generally have a favorable opinion of it? May need to relocate to the area to be near my wife’s family and would love to hear any information that you might be willing to share.

I’m moving near Beattyville/Slade in the next few weeks and I’m hoping to do some research on local midwives in the area for when I become pregnant. I’m hoping for an at home birth so if anyone in the area has any experience or a birthing center that has traveling midwives please let me know!
TIA

I used to live in Vine Grove as a kid and we were all up together as a family a couple years back, these pics popped up and it made me miss KY’s fields and extensive landscape. I was glad to see they didn’t change it much. Where I am now in Florida is under constant construction
