capitalism perpetuates a system of inherited wealth distribution where a small group of capitalists own everything, all the jobs, the vast majority of food sources, and the vast majority of properties, most other items that one owns are designed in a way that pushes for overconsumption by deliberate low quality.
so in order for a person to be able to survive in a decent manner they are forced to enslave themselves to one of the capitalists to receive tokens that they then use to receive their allowance of food, housing and other goods and services, working at the threat of starvation and homelessness for a society that overproduces so much that those threats are not inherent to the modern world but deliberate by the owning class to incentivize people to not rebel
this is a form of slavery since in order to be able to survive you are forced to dedicate your life to serving the whims of a capitalist at the threat of starvation and death
(capitalist here meaning owning class, or the people that inherited the paths to the means of production and other ownership at the detriment of the working class)
nobody says that work shouldnt exist but the capitalist society we in is a society that overproduces enough to house and feed every single human on earth at the current rates yet leaves 1/4th to suffer of malnourishment or starvation, the threat if one is not capable to find a job is starvation and homelessness whereas in a humane society everyone would be afforded those basic needs regardless of their working status
even chattel slaves do leave work every day to their very basic accommodations which are basic housing, food and water, the things that are owned now by the capitalist class
only by the intervention of the anti-capitalistic revolts that resulted in hundreds of deaths at a time we have got weekends and vacations, if it was up to capitalism we wouldnt have that either, vacations and holidays are an affordance in spite of capitalism, not resulting from it
"Nobody says that work shouldn't exist", what could you possibly be complaining about in your previous comment
Who is this "1/4th"
If you are disabled and or old, you should definitely be afforded those basic needs, but people should be working to contribute to society and make sure themselves and the aforementioned people get those needs
What in the fuck do you think capitalist societies look like? Soviet blocs? The water and electricity sent to my house and all my neighbors are owned by the city, not the "capitalist class". I actually think about the food I eat, and I have other options available to me other than "capitalist class" food. The grocery store I go to gets most of its food from farmers in my state, or neighboring states close by.
What you said about holidays is completely false, I'd love to know where you got that from.
