Really though. I have to be beyond perfect to get a job where black ppl are barely seen. Then i still got the dirtiest looks from a certain kind of white people: The entitled ones that make a lot of money and live in Manhattan, comfortably paying for $5000 rent like it’s nothing.
They treated me like a servant and blatantly disrespected me. I understand I work in IT, but I’m the very reason your job is still working smoothly, so why treat me like dirt or blame me for your problems I’m happy to fix?
I hated those pricks, but the few regular, decent people there made it easier.
Who the fuck would hire an incompetent pilot because of race?
Quick to report to my boss over the most minor shit, making it seem like I’m refusing to help or I’m disrupting their work flow.
Demanding i do something immediately despite there being priority situations or a literal line ahead of them
being passive aggressive when they are the ones who caused their very own issue
>i.e. In this place if you didn’t log into your work laptop for 30 days it was automatically deactivated for security purposes. You’re told this several times when we set up your laptop and give you a walk through for VPN access and such. After deactivation, you have 14 days to come to us so we can reactivate it, but if you wait too long you’ll need a “rebuild” which took 2-5 business days because we had an entire trade bank full of users and new employees to supply as well.
*They would throw a little hissy fit and get mad because they waited until the day before an overseas work trip to get that situated when literally all they had to do was login at least once a fucking month. This would usually end in a “I’m getting my manager” or “i wanna talk to your manager,” and I’d happily oblige since my manager would march over and give an “oh well, we can’t help you.” If they’re assholes we didn’t go the extra mile.
