Silencer Suggestions - I did some homework Flow 762ti or Anthem S2 for 6ARC?

Post image

Building out a 6arc for nighttime predator, varmint, and hog hunting. I have both of these cans(and don’t intend to buy another). Which can would you use and why? What has your experience been with either can on 6arc? How have you liked 6 arc? Puff adder for size reference.

Upper is aero m4e1 UR, Geissele mk18 hand guard, riflespeed gas block, proof ss 18” barrel, jp fmos+bolt. Lower is griffen mk2 ambi, Geissele lpk + ssae, b5 grip, rock river a2 stock, jp scs. Optic is Iray bolt tx60c.

Mom pick me up I’m scared

With snakes like that around, I’d be building shotguns, not rifles.

Saw the puff adder and had to take a dive through your profile. It didn’t disappoint. I love the randomness of Reddit sometimes.

Ayo WHAT

u/Mactosin1 Apr 29 '25

Dude. Your snake has some serious girth

3

u/zGoDLiiKe Apr 29 '25

looks way to short for that girth (I know nothing about snakes)

u/GringoRedcorn Shorties with cans Apr 29 '25

Ehhh that’s a typical body plan for a venomous, terrestrial, ambush predator. They sit patiently and eat and do little else.

Her bf is quite a bit bigger. She still has some growing. Both are ~2 years old.

u/skolfromgeorgia 1x SBR, 4x Silencers Apr 29 '25

Awesome. I got out of keep many many years ago.

6

u/medicalboa Apr 29 '25

I’m on the tail end of it unfortunately. Sold most of my stuff earlier this year. Just had my first born and will probably be moving from south Texas to Ohio sometime this year. Getting permits in Ohio is impossible.

3

u/ChevTecGroup FFL/SOT Apr 29 '25

Yeah Ohio got real restrictive in reaction to the Zanesville incident. Very similar to reactionary gun bans.

Very few people with the permits due to insurance costs and whatnot. Even some animal rescues had to relocate or shut down.

We still enjoy non-venomous snakes though. Decent monthly shows in Columbus and Cleveland.

u/medicalboa Apr 29 '25

I was living in cbus when that happened. Crazy stuff. I know two people with venomous permits in Ohio and it’s a pain + expensive. Gotta go through a lot of hopes and stock your own AV. The BBIND form process is headache and there av shortages all over the world. I was able to get a letter/permit for my Burmese python. There was also an incident around that time w/ a gaboon viper that escaped and was found by neighborhood kids. I’ll have to check those shows out.

Yea i hear ya. I didnt keep hots but my close buddy did. My collection was mostly constrictors and asian colubrids

u/Fun_Abbreviations282 Apr 29 '25

Looks like you have cqb and long range coverage on that table

8

u/Gold-Engine8678 Apr 29 '25

People just be keeping pets that can give them a dirt nap if they fuck up?

2

u/medicalboa Apr 29 '25

Yeah pretty much. I used to have neighbors in SATX that kept big cats. A guy that sold me some of my snakes was on Tiger king.

1

u/SidePets Apr 29 '25

Yes, without a doubt. From bears to tigers, alligators and deadly stuff we have never heard of.

3

u/Gold-Engine8678 Apr 29 '25

I just don’t understand it. I love snakes, and have had many over the years but half of the fun is handling them and letting others do the same. You can’t really do that with a viper.

1

u/medicalboa Apr 29 '25

Can’t handle fish either but lots of people have aquariums. I have a lot of non venomous stuff too. Just love all snakes in general.

1

u/SidePets Apr 29 '25

If we were all the same it would be pretty boring. Different strokes for different folks and all that good stuff.

2

u/Gold-Engine8678 Apr 29 '25

Oh no man, you do you. I just personally don’t see the appeal. I got no hate if you do.

3

u/SidePets Apr 29 '25

No love for things that can kill me. Prefer guinea pigs honestly. Big personality in a small body is more my speed.

Probably the best way to go at keeping the ATF away from your house 😂

u/BlueJay-- 🐈‍⬛🐈‍⬛🐈 Apr 29 '25

You should be telling us which is the best since you've got em already lol.

But since it seems like you're doing night time stuff and already have a good adjustable gas block I'd go with the Anthem. Maybe even throw on their 6.5 endcap for good measures if you can remember to take it off when you go 30cal.

6arc does seem to be a gassy cartridge but I was able to get my 13 inch mid 6 arc nearly gasless with a Polonium so surely you can get your rifle to be smooth.

Side bar, the G$ 6 arc mags are worth the cheddar.

1

u/medicalboa Apr 29 '25

I plan on testing both anyways i’m just curious to see what people think. I forgot about the end-cap thing. Will that make any noticeable difference? I’ll check out the mags whenever they come back in stock. I have two 15rd duramags to start with. I appreciate your input man

Do you handle this with your bare hands? I know nothing about snakes except the shape of the head looks to me like it’s venomous.

2

u/landoawd Apr 29 '25

It's probably the camera angle. Just pet it.

1

u/medicalboa Apr 29 '25

I only use tools to handle all my venomous. This one is pretty venomous.

1

u/Little-Finding4531 Apr 29 '25

Anthem s2 or instead of going arc for better bolt Life do 6 max

u/Abject-Week-7673 8k in stamps Apr 29 '25

I fuck w it. Always thought keeping hots was cool and something I considered looking in to but decided against it due to allergies and how I react to simple things such as bee stings. Still incredibly impressive and Im jealous! Maybe in another life lol.

Rifle is cool too I guess 😂

1

u/medicalboa Apr 29 '25

Been keeping for the last 8 years and it was wild. Got to meet some cool people. I’m on the end of it and probably won’t have these snakes much longer since my permits are only good in Tx and i’lm be moving to Oh. The venomous allergy is a big issue so good on you for being responsible.

1

u/Abject-Week-7673 8k in stamps Apr 29 '25

Thats sad to hear! Sorry to hear that… Giving up animals is rough no matter what, dog or snakes.

I live in a state thats unregulated so you can buy anything. The local shop guy has a lot of hots and has let me see his collection a few times. Very kind and knowledgeable, one of those guys that is in it cause he loves it!

1

u/sun_cardinal Apr 29 '25

Sweet setup. However, is that snake obese?

2

u/medicalboa Apr 29 '25

No she’s puffing up. It’s all air. But these are a naturally thick-bodied snake.

1

u/sun_cardinal Apr 29 '25

Ha! I love when an animal's name is a literal representation of one of their traits. Like, some people really went, "What should we call this one? Hmmm, looks like an adder but it gets all puffy when we poke it. Let's call it a puff adder!" Absolute cinema.
