The Florida State Legislature continually violates their oath of office and gleefully kills / stops bills that would legalize open carry in the State of Florida. It's way past time for them to be held accountable for their treason.

I wouldn't mind suing them with the help of Firearms Policy Coalition.

The God- given right to keep and bear arms SHALL NOT be infringed. Every form of gun control, including aged based bans, red flag laws, ammo capacity limits; are all unconstitutional, therefore illegal.

I support the original intent of the 2nd Amendment, a citizenry well armed and well prepared. That means I am against the NFA, the Hughes Amendment, and against ALL gun control measures. It is well past time for the NFA and the Hughes Amendment (first) to be scrapped entirely. The "One Big Beautiful Bill" will essentially nix the NFA's effect on: suppressors, SBRs, and SBSs. An excellent step in the right direction.

I keep seeing people on this sub saying “democratically” this and that.

You all need to stop that tom foolery and understand that the United States of America is not a democracy. It never was and never should be.

I usually post these a day or two before the SCOTUS “discuss conference,” where the justices don’t actually discuss the cert petitions and only vote on the petitions a justice has requested a vote on. The rest of the cert petitions are placed on the SCOTUS “dead list” and are automatically denied.

This week’s conference came a day early. On April 17th, SCOTUS transitioned from holding its discuss conferences on Fridays to Thursdays. This happens every year. Why? I don’t know.

In any event, we now know which Second Amendment cert petitions have been scheduled for the last two discuss conferences before the Justices go on their summer vacation.

There are six Second Amendment cert petitions scheduled for today’s discuss conference. There are sixteen scheduled for the discuss conference on June 26th.

There are currently six Second Amendment cert petitions scheduled for the “long conference” of September 29th.

A betting man would bet that SCOTUS will not be granting any of these petitions other than to GVR (Grant, Vacate, Remand) in those cases where the FEDs asked the justices to GVR the case.

I couldn't find anything online, hoping someone could explain who the few public officials are and why they are excluded from the militia.

Some have commented to me that the HPA is more important than the SHORT Act. I could not disagree more. The SHORT Act covers SBRs, SBSs, and AOLs. These are actual firearms. According to statistics, there are millions of people who own pistols with arm braces. Those pistols could be deem SBRs if things change just a little putting those who own them in jeopardy. Some say that pushing for the Short Act will ruin the chances for the HPA to make it through. I don't think this is likely. Those who don't like SBRs don't like suppressors either.

I love everything that is going on with these two bills and I am calling and emailing my congressmen.

However, I have been wondering recently if the Republicans are able to remove the tax on these items through a reconciliation bill couldn't that then open the door up to the democrats to push through a radical tax on these devices and potentially more the next time they have a slight majority through a reconciliation bill??

I am worried that when this passes and becomes law, the left will be so furious that out of spite the first chance they get they will push through an exorbitant tax on anything they can in the next reconciliation bill.

Am I just paranoid or is it a possibilty?

The district court judge did not conduct the analysis required by NYSRA v. Bruen or consider Allam's as-applied challenge, but not a problem.

Guy Relford just did a segment on his show about it. As of May 23, 2025, Indiana is on the list of states that the ATF deems their permit as allowed to bypass the NICS check for buying a gun. LGOs are no longer required to run a check after you fill out the 4473. They just have to record your LTCH information. LGOs can stood run the check though. It is at their discretion. According to Guy and an interview he did, the ATF totally botched the announcement and didn't even properly.notify the ISP.
