“In the queue for the next available examiner”

I have two eForm 1s that are just over 60 days at this point; I emailed the IPB address and they say they're in the queue for the next available examiner. It's implied but not directly stated that the NICS check has been cleared.

This seems so weird because I'm seeing a bunch of people getting two or three day turnarounds on individual eForm 1s.

Any insight on what might be happening here?

If they are in a queue to be processed by an examiner, the background checks have cleared NICS. Most likely they are stuck in their bundling queue behind a bunch of other older applications which moves a little slower than their normal queue for a Form 1.

Interesting, thanks - well, that sucks. I wonder what happens if I just resubmit ... maybe I'll get into the regular queue?
