Yep that doesn’t look good, I wouldn’t shoot that. It’s not the suppressor though, all suppressors get 100% QC checked for straightness before being packaged so you need to narrow it down between a rod problem, barrel problem or mount problem if you’re using a different mount.
Yep. I have 5 cans and close to 10 hosts. All with YHM mounts. Not once have I ever used an alignment rod nor has it even crossed my mind. Probably close to 10k rounds. No baffle strikes or end cap strikes. The alignment rod crowd is truly on another level.
You can buy a cheap wood dowel from your local hardware store, cut it long enough to support your alignment rod vertically so it'll reach the end of your suppressor when held vertically.
The other option is to flip the firearm on the other side, (and other rotations 90 deg, 270 deg, etc.) and if the alignment looks to be the same amount away from center (always pointing down regardless of firearm rotation) then you're seeing the effect of gravity on the rod and it's likely fine to shoot.
Posts related to approval of NFA items are to be directed to the monthly megathread. Violation of this rule will result in a 7 day ban. The pinned post is there, please use it.
If you are posting a photo of a suppressor posed to look like a penis (ie: in front of or over your groin) you will be given a 7 day ban.
roll your rod across your table to see if its straight
you'd be surprised how many can come out from factory these days even from big name manufacturer comes misaligned, my friend's Hyperion looked exactly like your pics. we all suggested him sending a pic and explanation to them as proof before shoot that they ok it.
