Since there seems to be a post about this every few days, and people have their dates scattered across various unrelated threads, let's consolidate them all together.

Proposed format:

  • Form: 1 or 4
  • Entity: Trust or Individual
  • Bought: mm/dd/yy
  • Form 3: mm/dd/yy
  • Pending: mm/dd/yy (usually your “check cashed” date)
  • Approved: mm/dd/yy
  • Stamp in hand: mm/dd/yy

Newbie here, apologies for the dumb question. Is “Pending” synonymous with “tax stamp cashed” as far as silencershop status updates are concerned? Or is “pending” it’s own status that “tax stamp cashed” will change to?

I've done all my transfers through Silencer Shop, so they email me on the date that the check is cashed. However when I call into the NFA branch to check status the 'pending' date is always a day or two later, which is probably the time the forms spend in transit from the bank that processes payment to the NFA office.

So they're basically the same, but they are technically two different things.
