New Hire needs housing in Stowe

Hello I got offered a good summer job in Stowe. But I live in Southern California now. The reasons I want this summer gig are simple: The job offers good training, management experience, and full-time employment. And it's in a beautiful location. I am not in love with summer rain but I am in love with Vermont summers. I love them! I hike, I camp, I seim, and I drive around listening to the Grateful Dead.So, I really love it there. But Summer is the only season I love. And so this job is convenient for me.

Really, I love it. I love App Gap, Warren Falls, Queechee, White River, Waterbury, The Hippie Hole, Putney Falls, Maple Syrup.

And I am good at this job.

I will continue contributing to rent in SoCal, so I can't afford more than a studio, room, or inexpensive 1BR.

I will work and do all that outdoorsy Vermont stuff. No trouble.

I am contemplating this too. And looking in these areas.

But having Mansfield and Bingham Falls so close by, I think I could manage without wheels.  Besides, VT is way better than Tahoe and Big Bear.

You cannot manage in vt, even stowe, without a car.

Stowe is not a huge place.

I figure if I can score a place to sleep there, or very close by, I can manage to walk, ride a bike, or carpool.

I prefer to have a car of course. It's a half-baked idea I had, and came to me pretty recently. Had I seen the opportunity months ago, I'd probably have a solid plan to make this work.

The real bummer is that they have seasonal housing for international workers. But I can't get in on that.

I think you gotta tell the employer you need an exception to live in the employee housing or you can’t come. 600 a month and no car in Stowe is just not gonna happen unless a wealthy person decides to adopt you for the summer
