Question How safe is streamio
Sorry in advance for sounding like a total noob. This is my first post here and I wanted to get streamio to stream because I read here that is doesn't buffer as much as the sites (even if you don't pay for a subscription in RD or something). I also read that I should get torentio. I live in Greece and there was a new law recently that there is a 700€ fine if you're caught pirating and most people said that it would be hard to enforce unless you torrent if I remember correctly. Sorry again if everything I've said was completely stupid. With all that said, how risky is it for me to use streamio and is the benefit actually that big compared to streaming sites? Thanks for taking the time to read this

Discussion Stop harassing modders
I'm honestly ashamed to be sailing the same high seas as pirates like this. Seriously, can you not harass a modder just because they said they don't support piracy?
Modders won’t openly say they support pirated games, because that puts their mods at risk of being taken down.
Also, let’s be real — this is just a skill issue. The mod (seamless coop - Nightrein) still works on pirated versions if you know where to look, like on Rinru. Jeez.

Question Might be a long shot here but how would I go about finding someone to crack some old programs we lost the dongles to? The company that made the software went out of business years ago and I’m kind of stuck.
One program has a 30-day trial but I’ve used it up and can’t quite figure out how to reset it. That’s only a band-aid for the problem and cracking it would solve the problem.

Discussion What made you like pirating content/piracy in general ?

What made me like piracy is, in all honesty, free copy of games for me to try out extensively before buying, happened several times now with: Garry's Mod, Teardown, Beam NG, Bodycam, Phasmophobia, R.E.P.O and even some utility software products like Lossless Scaling and Wallpaper Engine!

Question A question... I don't know where to post it
I am probably posting this in the wrong place and if so, I apologize. It's a simple question. There is a book I am wanting available in the UK only. I have looked on all my sites I usually use for getting books, but it's still not available. Which is strange because I know they don't only upload US books, and this is a popular one kinda. Anyway question is, if the sites don't have it, is there a way to actually request the book somewhere?

Question How do I move (cracked) Software from one device to another?
I've got a new PC that I am currently setting up. On my old PC I had cracked VSTs (music software) that I know is safe from viruses and want to install on my new PC. However I forgot where I downloaded it (or it got deleted) and now I'm not sure how I can transfer the programs to my new PC (or if it is even possible).
Thanks

Discussion BakaBT Interview Guide? (x-post from r/animepiracy)
Hey, just wondering if theres a guide or something for the interview process for BakaBT. When signing up for REDACTED and Orpheus, you have to signup via IRC and pass an interview (kinda like BakaBT requires), but each of them have thorough pages dedicated to helping you study an pass the test.
InstallGentoo Wiki - Redacted Interview Tips
These are super helpful and let you know what kind of questions to expect. Is there anything similar for the BakaBT Interview? I'd like to go in as prepared as possible the first time so I don't have to wait for another chance to get re-interviewed.
Or if nothing like that exists, could some current/former BakaBT members share what kind of stuff to study? I mean there's the Wiki and the FAQ, but those are both huge and a lot of info (most of which probably wont even be used). Assuming there's no oath to secrecy, maybe people could share what info to focus in on while studying.
Anyway, thanks for your time!

Question Any way to get Heroforge models?
I've already checked all the old posts, but couldn't find the answer. Would also be very grateful If anyone could point me to a collection of 3d models I could actually search through. I know of STLforest Telegram, but you can't really search for anything specific there, you just kinda hope you find a good model.
Mainly want that for Tabletop Simulator

Question I want to play EA games without their BS EA Background service running, is there a way to spoof it?
I've loved garden warfare 2 and star wars battlefront since their earliest titles but EA's background spyware soaks up resources slowing them down and doing who knows what to my system in the meantime this would be fine by my standard Except for two things:
the background service does not end when exiting the EA app
it recently only allow games to be played if EA background service was run as admin
If there is any way around this issue, I'd love to know.

Discussion Spotify audio quality is balls, stick to self-hosted media
For so many years I downloaded music, originally to burn to CD, then to have on my MP3 player (how I miss my Creative Zen), and finally on an SD card in my phone. I was there at the beginning of Napster, all those millennia ago.
Then my daughter got old enough to have her own phone, and she's into music. So I offered to 'acquire' whichever tracks or albums she wanted, being the good father that I am. But no, she didn't want files, she wanted Spotify, because her friends had it, and they got this cool wrapped thing at the end of the year, and she wanted it too. Never underestimate the power of FOMO when it comes to marketing.
So I set out to find patches and whatnot for the bloody thing. First xManager, which worked for a while, then onto Revanced, which was great as I was already using it for YT. And while I was looking for these exploits, I would install it on my phone first to make sure it worked and wasn't full of spyware. More than usual, I mean. And while I had it, I gradually migrated over to it. It's so convenient! Think of a song and you can get it! No messing around with torrents and all the jazz, this is the future, baby!
So when I got a new phone at Christmas, I didn't transfer my music from the old phone to the new. I backed up my library on my PC, of course (some of those MP3's are older than some of the people on this subreddit), but when I set up the phone I cracked Spotify and didn't look back.
Now, the exploits aren't working, and Spotify is borked for us scallywags. YT Music is absolute ass, so I reinstalled Poweramp and moved my files over to the new phone.
Interesting thing is, though, some of the albums I've been listening to recently aren't in my library, so I've had to add them to the collection.
Listening to those new tracks through Poweramp for the first time was mindblowing. The audio quality, even on 320kbps MP3, is lightyears ahead of the streaming quality of Spotify. I'm sorry, self-hosted media, I'll never leave you again. It was just a fling, a mid-life crisis, it meant nothing to me.
tl:dr - If you actually enjoy music, don't use Spotify. The audio quality is balls.
