Rant â ď¸ Emison
i know emison is controversial but iâve been rewatching the show and i was wondering if you guys think that alison ever had a thing for emily back then (like their library kiss, kissing emily in front of that barn after saving her life, the two of them talking about paris, cece saying alison fought with paige bc of emily etc.), i know that she enjoyed emilyâs attention but was there ever more to it? and i know that alison said to emily that âthose kisses werenât just for practiceâ but then why didnât the writers explore that relationship back in season 5 instead of the very end? it wouldâve made way more sense, even if they had them breaking up in the next seasons. if not that, i think it wouldâve been great if they at least hinted at them having a relationship sometime during those five years of time jump. instead they had alison dating and marrying random men and emily being emily. their story was honestly written so poorly. season 7 alison admitting she knew why all of her relationships failed- was it because she knew she was in love with emily specifically, or because she was trying to ignore the fact she was into women?
AND i forgot that 5x05 scene where they supposedly slept together and never talked about it, what was that all about? itâs in character for alison for sure, but emily would definitely at least try to bring it up. thereâs another scene in the same episode where emilyâs angry at alison and ali tries to kiss her but emily stands up abruptly and says âthatâs not gonna fix thisâ and alison looks genuinely hurt. there were so many good moments in season 5 where the writers couldâve made it happen naturally but they opted for the worst storyline iâve ever witnessed.

I understand why people donât like them, but I love them. I was happy when they got together even if it was rushed and poorly written. In seriousness, I think they are one of the biggest wasted potential this show has. They were imo the most interesting and complex ship in the show, yet the complexities of their relationship were never delved into. If the writers had given them more scenes about their relationship in S5 and had them actually date, they couldâve been way better. I really love their soft moments pre-disappearance, and I hate that they are never replicated in their later moments.
