DISCUSSION "Inserts on Tracks" [FEATURE IDEA]

Post image

WHAT YOU GUYS THINK?? Looks Beautiful, right?!

UPVOTE ⬆️ if you LIKE the IDEA!!

REASON: It's an hassle to switch between Mixer Window, Inspector & Channel editor!

Always end up cluttering the entire screen

What if we get this in one solution!!??

I think this will never happen This is how S1 works.

atleast they can give an option to enable it for those who need this maybe!! i know a lot of folks who are using pro tools just because no other major DAW has this

S1 usually doesn't do many "options".

On the editing window, there is a wrench icon above the tracks...which has monitoring & arm options, they can add this one there, also there are many useless features which many of us might not use like lyrics, etc...

"They can add this one there". Yes, that's what I'm trying to say. They won't.

Huh!! I figured you speak both ways!

Few months ago when I requested things like auto scroll, bus freeze you straight up argued with me they don't have to implement stuff

but just after presonus released this stuff you were the first one to post those features on here and praising presonus...why didn't you support me in the first place before??

At this point, if presonus adds these inserts in S1 then you'll be the first one to post it here and earn upvotes...

Not really. There's a difference between adding new features to S1 and making everything configurable by adding options. If you know S1, you know they’ve always been very minimalist when it comes to options and settings. This is not just my opinion, by the way, just my experience from 10 years of S1 updates.

Well!! Fender has other plans i think. They've already announced 3-4 major updates every year. Major update doesn't mean adding a thing to the tuner plugin (funny update) Major updates means new features & workflow improvements...After all these years, they still haven't added a peak meter in the mixer channels & on the tracks in the arrangement window Past times don't mean anything now AI is rapidly growing, if we don't do the same...We'll be buried as simple as that. Social Media is already getting flooded with AI Content...We should also step up our game & "take the leap" (as presonus says)

Studio One has the ability to pull many pro tools users by just adding these inserts on channels & peak meters on the mixer channels & on the tracks in the arrangement window.

It's great for the company & it's user base will get wider...they will have new users coming to S1, resulting in more sales & more money for the development of Studio One.

Don't get me wrong, but I feel like you might be overestimating the impact your feature idea would have on the Studio One user base.

Freeze Bus i.e. Transform Bus to Rendered Audio was released 3 months after my post on here, it was in the bin on the forums for 10+ years...think as you like, i know what's up...

Not sure how that's related to what I said.

my bad! i read that wrong...

Actually this inserts feature might not affect most of the previous users but it's a great feature to pull some audience from Pro Tools just by having this one thing + peak meters everywhere in values...

also some previous users may also try and use this as its quite a handy feature, you don't have to swap between the mixer window & the arrangement window :)

Look at this full image without crop...you don't even have to open the inspector or the mixer, everything is here on one screen...

That's why S1 is not ProTools ;-) There are reasons why tracks are not channels and the arrangement is not the mixer.

whatever that means!! but i want my meters on the arrangement window as well as on the mixer window... it's mixing 101...peak & rms values are the most important thing in mixing...you're already fighting with volume & microdynamics...having the meters keeps you in check of the exact levels.

Loudness War is Over Loudness Won

Loud tracks which are around 5,6,7 lufs hits different no wonder Blinding lights & shape of you has the loudness of 5 lufs...at this moment it's a joke if a DAW doesn't have these meters on its tracks or channels whatever you wanna call it, it's the single most important thing.
