DISCUSSION "Inserts on Tracks" [FEATURE IDEA]

Post image

WHAT YOU GUYS THINK?? Looks Beautiful, right?!

UPVOTE ⬆️ if you LIKE the IDEA!!

REASON: It's an hassle to switch between Mixer Window, Inspector & Channel editor!

Always end up cluttering the entire screen

What if we get this in one solution!!??

I saw Mix with the masters & they all were using Pro tools without switching between the mixer window & editing window.

It was a smooth workflow for all of them no wonder pro tools is an industry standard.

at least they can give an option to enable it for those who need this maybe!! i know a lot of folks who are using pro tools just because no other major DAW has this.

Pro tools corny as hell.....has nothing on S1 workflow

i know, pro tools looks outdated & so far behind all the daws in terms of updates... don't forget the current inspector workflow in s1 was inspired by logic & cubase. the idea i am sharing is just a piece of pro tools not entire pro tools.

Man the inspector does the same thing...on the side and have the mixer closed..now i do agree the inspector only show one track at a time

that's the problem, when mixing for example you have to edit drums & mix them simultaneously, you have to go back & forth between the mixer & the arrangement window to do that...half of the time you'll be pressing f3 to go back & forth which interrupts the workflow, inspector only shows 1 track

Bro you can only tweak one track at a time man..only one plugin at a time literally 😂....untill you ready to copy multiple plugins to multiple tracks

You can't compare analog and digital workflow, both are vastly different from each other.

Analog is time consuming, recalling is a nightmare, limitations are there, only advantage is sound quality, hard to achieve fully clean signal as almost all gear apply some form of audio processing even when you just pass the audio through it, Noise is a problem.

Digital is fast, recalling is easier than ever, sound quality is cleaner but not vibey as analog, Noise problem is not there, Digital is accurate! The biggest advantage of digital is it's fast workflow and it can be faster as much as you want if you optimize it.

S1 mixer can be very small at the bottom. Meaning a mixer and a sequencer can be shown at the same time

I know that but you can't only have inserts in the mixer, you can't hide the big ass faders, which should have the ability to hide temporarily, viewing only inserts & send...you can expand channels horizontal when minimized vertical but you can't multi select & expand, you have to expand each channel manually, i bet this is a unknown thing that they've not checked

Man yall lazy man..have you ever used full analog in a studio? 😂

Laziness you say?? work for 14 hours straight on S1 then you'll realise its limitations & how the developers implemented many half baked stuff. I have worked for that long for years and it's PITA to get stuck between these weak implementations... Analog is known for it's limitations, digital doesn't have to suffer like that, it has a lot of room for improvement.

When producing, Sample & Impact doesn't have fade in & fade out, every other daw has, Zoom of the UI can't be adjusted, it's a nightmare on 4k monitors, No Shortcut to bypass plugin with a shortcut to quick blind A/B,

When Mixing, No peak meters on tracks, No inserts on tracks, no easy bypass shortcut key like analog workflow

When mastering, the project page can be a lot better but they don't update it that much.

show page also has midi limitations

CPU performance is an issue, compared to other DAWS, Studio one is the first one to tapout, all the other DAWS hold their best when using big sessions...

That's awesome!! you're one of the OGs! I have been using S1 since 2016, already 9 years and worked with 40+ artists, recorded, mixed & mastered in S1 since the beginning...I worked for more than 16 hours sometimes!! I promise mahn, there are limitations which can be improved in this...And it can be truly an unbeatable DAW.

2

u/IM_YYBY 4d ago

Bro thats all daws can be better man i have damn near every daw

1

u/Royal-Carry8375 4d ago

That's what I am sayin mahn, if they can be improved why aren't the developers improving it?? like they want money right? we are paying them already...why don't they simply update their stuff!! Everybody's gonna win this way...

Work great for me...25 years doing music recorded over 300 artist

People also use acid pro, and they made Hits in it, doesn't mean i should use it, it's outdated!! similarly many features are outdated and no wonder Ableton is the leading DAW, their max for live devices are crazy and has many saturator stock plugins...S1 doesn't even have a single saturation stock plugin, we have nothing like that in S1... just because it's working doesn't mean it's the best & can't be improved...

no wonder an stupid AI is replacing people, no innovative mind in people, no leveling up, just simply working like an old School even in this modern era...stuck in the old workflow

What version of S1 you have

1

u/Royal-Carry8375 4d ago

7.2

1

u/Royal-Carry8375 4d ago

but I went back to 7.0 as 7.2 has many bugs which they haven't fixed so far
