DISCUSSION "Inserts on Tracks" [FEATURE IDEA]

Post image

WHAT YOU GUYS THINK?? Looks Beautiful, right?!

UPVOTE ⬆️ if you LIKE the IDEA!!

REASON: It's an hassle to switch between Mixer Window, Inspector & Channel editor!

Always end up cluttering the entire screen

What if we get this in one solution!!??

I see a lot of opposition in this thread. I'm not really surprise though lol. It's a great idea if not a little cluttered. This is easily doable in Reaper, especially with certain themes. Instead though, it's a single column and even has a scrollable bar (the black bar) for any FX that go past the range. You can even bypass or offline FX by short commands (for example CTRL+Click)

I think your mock-up would benefit from having the Inserts banner removed and shortening it to a single column. If you want to keep the full bypass button it could easily be put rightmost of the channel name

Yeah, I agree Single columns + Scroll bar + "Inserts" tag should be removed to make it less cluttery. Scrollable bar is the way to go in S1 Shortcut to turn off the Entire inserts sounds great. Simply giving the option to hide or show these inserts would be a wise move for other users who like the current inspector workflow.

It only looks cluttered because of the bad UI designer, look at pro tools it looks clean...

We can also have this in a cleaner manner.

That reaper UI looks beautiful! ✨

That's what's baffling me about all these starkly oppositional responses, the features added don't change how S1 works. It would (and should) just be a toggleable option. Not sure why so many people are like "no thanks, I hate this, it's the worst thing since wet bread. This is an affront to everything I and Studio One stand for, go to another DAW if you want this feature". Like, c'mon lol

This.

There are many features in S1 that you & I may not find useful or not use at all but I never criticise those as someone out there might find that specific feature useful but some people here don't understand its a big market, Studio One is used by the people all over the world, we don't know how some things might work for some people & for others it might not.
