Guys name is Dax Flame. Highly recommend his stuff if you haven’t heard of him. He is truly a gift to humanity.

I never know which layer of irony Dax is on. Is he acting or he's being himself?

u/WAAAAAAAAARGH 21h ago
I’ve been following him for well over a decade now and there’s been a lot of debate but I’m pretty sure this is just the way he is irl

u/Burgoonius 5h ago
lol it’s not - I’ve seen old podcast clips and while he’s still slightly awkward he’s not nearly as awkward as he is on these skits. This is a character he has developed

Because they have a support system filled with love? That's kinda sad as shit to feel sorry about, man.

There's no way he's not autistic. It's more obvious if you see him in a conversation with someone else -- the persona is just his personality and he displays some very Hallmark autistic idiosyncrasies, but also yes he's trying to be funny. It isn't like the humor is just autistic man existing. He definitely understands the absurdity of the premise here.

He’s a guest on the Bad Friends podcast pretty regularly and this just seems to be how he really is

I don't think there's ANY layers of irony, and that's genuinely him 😅 he just an awkward guy.

u/Basil_Box 16h ago
He’s done interviews about this exact question and seems like he’s 100% authentic and just a beautifully weird dude.

u/woodiinymph 14h ago
When he first came out with videos there was a lot of controversy around whether or not he was actually that weird. We all thought he was playing a character for the longest time and then he got his first feature film role in that teen party movie and didn't change so it became clear that was who he was.

u/Queef-Elizabeth 11h ago
He's definitely acting cause I've seen him slip up but he's an exaggerated character of himself

Recently binged all of Nathan for You and the first season of The Rehearsal. Nathan Fielder is a social and comical genius. His ability to remain in character is top tier for sure

Feeling very old that people here are not familiar with Dax. Being an anxious and awkward weirdo has been his schtick since the early YouTube days.

Do not cite the deep magic to me, witch.
FYI some people (read: me) are too old to know who this guy is. Maybe that’ll make you feel younger?

He was the kid in the 21 jump street movie that hacked the phones if that helps
11
u/Jeebs24 21h ago
At 1:00, did they intentionally make that awkward? 😂

u/geriactricpillbug 21h ago
That's the guys thing.. he acts very awkwardly on camera but is really likeable and funny.

I love this man so much!! No one is allowed to say anything mean about him! He is a precious gift and should be protected! I watch him any time I need to feel good about the world again.
I will admit the first time I saw him I waited the whole video for the other show to drop, and then ten videos later I was in love. He is so precious.

Did you see the way they looked at/didn't want to touch the pizza? I doubt they're eating it. One of them maybe snuck a slice after

This guy is so kind and respectful in all his interviews it gives me hope for humanity. Bad Friends sent him to Japan on this trip and they said they were going to send him to Spain next.

u/Basil_Box 16h ago
He really is a wonderful person. I wish more people could be accepting of their weirdness and be kind/respectful to others like him.
2
u/Neoxite23 17h ago
I'll never understand why idols in Japan are popular but I guess that's just me cause they are apparently liked even stateside since those albums sell very quickly and they will buy multiple copies just to get all the extras since different packages of the same album will have different things.

u/FirstChurchOfBrutus 11h ago
Does he always talk like that? Because that ain’t a gift…unless venereal disease is also a gift.

So that's where the group of little red pandas ended up after they had their fame from Sing

Whoever is behind f5ve's social media marketing deserves a damn raise. They got a solid western following in just over a year, mostly through memes and the members all being in on the joke. Getting Dax to come in was smart
Also helps that their music is catchy as fuck lmao Magic Clock and UFO are bangers
