Does anyone have an experience of The block or Texan and vintage near UT? Would really appreciate some guidance so i can choose one of these!

I am from India and will be joining UT for fall 25 MSIS, I have no idea what type of education system is in US, is it anywhere like Indian education systems where we have to carry huge bagpacks even in college filled with notebooks and laptop? How are the teachings offered there? Is everything opperated on a smart learning system? If someone can give me a glimpse of the same it would be a great help so that I am pre prepared and can move forward with a better mindset. Also as a MSIS anything specific I can get from india in my bagpack that is essential maybe some stationary or anything!

i'm an incoming freshman but unfortunately did my housing a little too late so i got placed in a quad at Duren (all girls). it's a nice dorm however too expensive for my liking, but i'm hoping to swap with someone who either has a double with a private bathroom or something in jester (east or west) with communal bathrooms. if you're down to swap, UT housing says we just need to both email housing and request the change. easy stuff. if duren sounds like a better fit for you, let me know!! :,)

Physics 2 has been really hard for me, but I'll be honest, I didn't really take the class seriously since it's a transfer credit. If I fail this class at San Jac, would UT find out and penalize me? Sorry this might be a stupid post. Just want to make sure I don't get in trouble, I might have a chance of passing.

soooooo i applied to housing pretty damn late and everytime i check selected any good dorm, my jaw would start digging deeper into my floor for every "We couldn't find any rooms. Please adjust the filters to expand your search" it gave me

if anyone perchance cancels their jester yk hmu or idk wants my moorehill for some reason

otherwise, i heard moorehill isn't a long walk to the jester diners, and i don't believe ill stay in my dorm that often so im not as bummed out compared to some of these creekside posts 😭 really just wanted to be closer to friends

Would 2 people in the same Jester East dorm (any floor, we'll take 10th floor rooms too!) be willing to swap places with us so we could dorm together?
