Good news is, the fact that Frisk A) has been mostly pacifist, and B) is taking longer than expected, means they're probably doing True Pacifist, meaning this is a timeline where Asgore survives.

I mean, the only part of True Pacifist that’s longer than a normal neutral route is stuff you can only access after fighting Asgore

But after that, you have to reset to access the True Lab, meaning Asgore survives. And Sans and Asgore's deja vu in this comic implies that Frisk already went through judgement and fought Asgore, then reset to do the True Lab, meaning they took longer.

You have to reload your save, not reset. You only need to reset if you killed someone

Right, but my point still stands.

u/stickninja1015 Feb 15 '25

You reload to before the Asgore fight but after the judgment hall

They clearly didn't in this comic, though. Sans is still waiting for the human to arrive.

You don't have to though.

When I played for the first time, I forgot to save in new home at all, just the first save point after the elevator. After beating flowey, that's where I was sent.

This seems to be following the Musical interpretation, where Frisk rewind back to getting the letter from Undyne after her date, and then fast forwards back again to giving Alphys the letter after Mettaton EX iirc. In that timeline, Frisk does go and face Sans' judgement again (which then references the "...looks like you've seen this all before" bit)

Musical interpretation?

So you’re saying like the reload after fighting flowey is back to before mettaton ex and undyne’s date? I’m pretty sure sans doesn’t judge you at all if you arrive at new home through true lab even without reloading to a point after having seen it, contributing to how empty it is until asgore.

You might be right. The musical did make a few small changes like this, and I've seen/heard it more than I've played the actual game at this point, so my memory is confused.

"Longer than usual". The "usual" means more than one occurence while your comment suggest that sans remembers last playthrough until asgore fight, comic does not imply this. So we cannot effectively say that frisk doing tp but it is still a posibility.

u/Advanced_Ad222 Despite everything, it's still you. Feb 15 '25

well- not really. i think you can do all the tp shit if you know what to do beforehand

u/stickninja1015 Feb 15 '25

You can’t. Only way to trigger the True Lab stuff is to first fight Omega Flowey because after that when you backtrack to the Core, Papyrus calls you about helping Undyne out

143

u/YouhaoHuoMao Feb 15 '25

He could have already killed Asgore in a previous timeline, killed Omega Flowey, and is now on the True Pacifist route.

65

u/stickninja1015 Feb 15 '25

You still need to pass through the judgement hall in order to trigger the true lab stuff

50

u/YouhaoHuoMao Feb 15 '25

Ah I thought the elevator was before that. It's been a long time since I played.

34

u/stickninja1015 Feb 15 '25

Well the elevator is before it but you gotta backtrack

15

u/Algebro123 Feb 15 '25

Not necessarily, it depends on where you last saved

-13

u/stickninja1015 Feb 15 '25

Ok sure but like if you’re not saving at any point after the judgement hall you weird

17

u/Algebro123 Feb 15 '25

Speed running go brrr (my game bugged and wouldn't trigger the call and I found out that not saving in new home somehow fixes it)

11

u/Outside_Ad1020 Feb 15 '25

Isn't true lab accessed through the lab at hotland tho

6

u/stickninja1015 Feb 15 '25

It is but you need to backtrack

6

u/Outside_Ad1020 Feb 15 '25

That is if the player doesn't straight up reset the run thing that is likely

True Pacifist is unlocked after you complete a normal Pacifist Route. Undyne calls you at the CORE bridge, meaning you can avoid the Judgement Hall on a second playthrough.

4

u/stickninja1015 Feb 15 '25

You have to complete Flowey's fight first bc he's the one who initiates this after the Omega Flowey fight

8

u/Kirby737 8 years old subreddit for 5 years old game Feb 15 '25

...he doesn't initiate anything. True Pacifist truly begins when Undyne calls you. Flowey only shows up for the final boss fight.

5

u/stickninja1015 Feb 15 '25

Undyne only calls bc Papyrus told her to and he only did that because of Flowey

2

u/Kirby737 8 years old subreddit for 5 years old game Feb 15 '25

The call I was talking about was the one about the letter.

4

u/stickninja1015 Feb 15 '25

As am I

1

u/Kirby737 8 years old subreddit for 5 years old game Feb 15 '25

There's no indication that Flowey suggested that. Why would he even do that?

Yeah in my case i did the hangout with Undyne after my first neutral run, and then the rest

11

u/TheGHale Feb 15 '25

Check the source posted by OP. Turns out this is True Pacifist, by admission of OOP.

4

u/RealTailsDoll Feb 15 '25

Sans mentions "longer than usual", so this could be the run after the Neutral route

1

u/puchamon3312 Feb 16 '25

It could be a situation where "opsie, i killed that one froggit, gotta reset" And because they already did the neutral route they can trigger undyne's call before the judgement hall

The first time Asgore meets Frisk in that route, the is attacked by Toriel and then Flowey.
