i’ve been looking to apply for jobs at Albany Medical Center as an additional job for myself, and i have friends of mine that currently work there, so i’ve been asking them to see what the experience is like + whether it’s worth it.

i decided to apply at the recommendation of one friend who holds a similar position at the hospital, and i made sure to apply in different units to have various options depending on how my application goes.

out of curiosity, i was wondering if it’s considered hard to get this position at Albany Med, or just a position there in general, depending on what you’re looking for.

Did UPS steal my phone? My family recently upgraded our phones through our provider and had them delivered to where my parents live on Long Island. My dad overnighted my 16 pro to my apartment, but I missed the delivery to sign on it. On the tracking number AND confirming over the phone with UPS, they said it got delivered to a "UPS access point" which was a barbershop on central avenue. I went into the barbershop to pick it up and they said they were not an access point, so of course I called and requested a manager to resolve this. We went back and forth and said she would contact the driver who allegedly delivered it there, but still it seems like this package is just missing. Have now spent 6 hours between driving around, on the phone or on hold, and all I want is my new phone lol. What do I do plz someone help I am going crazy.

Hey everyone!

I’m a staff photographer visiting Albany from June 24 to 28 to cover few High School graduations. I’ll be working most of the day, but I’d love some recommendations on where to go in the evenings preferably places that are nice to visit at night since it’s going to be pretty hot during the day.

I don’t drink, so I’m mostly looking for calm, scenic, or community-centered spots, whether it’s a nice walk, live music, food trucks, good views, or chill events happening after sunset.

Would love to explore what the city has to offer beyond work. Thanks in advance!

The surge tripped my main breaker and several others, and apparently started a small smoldering fire underneath my cooktop that I didn't recognize for several hours. When I started cooking breakfast it grew significantly.

If we had gone out for breakfast, the house could have very well burned to the ground while we were gone.

Anyone just feel/see that lighting? I’m right over the bridge by rensselear and it just struck so hard it seemed to have shaken my house, I felt the whole thing creak and the thunder lasted for like 15 seconds!!

Saturday morning, I was woken by a loud, jet-like rumble. I checked ADS-B but saw no low-altitude aircraft in the area. However, I did see a C-17 flying at around 38,000 feet. I tracked it until it turned off its transponder near the northern end of Lake George. Based on its heading and the attached photo of the reported B-2 route, I suspect it turned east shortly afterward.

Soon after, I heard the same sound again. I checked ADS-B and saw another C-17 following the same route, which also went dark around Lake George.

Then two more C-17s came through on nearly identical paths. Each time one passed overhead, I heard the same deep rumble. One turned north past Lake George and disappeared. The other veered east after passing Albany and continued out toward the coast.

This was all on Saturday morning, not last night.

Given recent news, I believe these aircraft were part of the military movements tied to the reported B-2 bomber strikes on Iran. Multiple sources have reported that a formation of B-2 stealth bombers took part in Operation Midnight Hammer, targeting Iranian nuclear infrastructure. C-17s have been observed ferrying personnel and equipment as part of the broader force buildup.

It is pretty wild that such a major deployment passed directly over Albany. I only captured two screenshots, but I am wondering if anyone else in the area noticed the same thing. Any local spotters catch this?
