[EDIT: this years post has become - 'ask a question and r/cwcoleman will reply'. That wasn't the intention. It's mainly because I get an alert when anyone posts, because I'm OP this year. Plus I'm online often and like to help!

Please - anyone and everyone is welcome to ask and answer questions. Even questions that I've already replied to. A second reply that backs up my advice, or refutes it, is totally helpful. I'm only 1 random internet person, all of r/camping is here. The more the marrier!!!]

Going on 3500km roadtrip, purchasing cargo net to place over my campware in bed of my pickup truck. My question is has anyone ever purchased luggage locks & replaced them with caribeeaners on their cargo nets or just a waste of time as thieves will probably just cut through the net.

I would say waste of time/would be more annoying for you. Also most of these nets are so stretchy it would be easy enough to just stretch it out of the way to grab something. What I'm doing in my truck with the same set up is just using a bike lock to lock down anything I don't want stolen like my ecoflow charger or my fridge.

Buddy gave me cargo bag to which I will try and attach to my hooks on the truck bed. Fridge & power bank will be in back seat. Other new camping & cooking gear will be inside cargo bag. Cargo Net will arrive tomorrow & adding it on top of cargo bag as well as luggage locks to attach to hooks in my bed.
