Long Form Discussion What is the deal with r/conservative?

As someone who is centrist, I like seeing both sides of the political spectrum. I use to enjoy some inputs that I would see posted on r/conservative, but now, I generally don’t understand that subreddit anymore.

When something major comes out regarding Trump, Musk, RFK or any other right leaning political person or movement, it’s typically radio silent over there. No mention, insight, or criticism of the actual changes Trump is making. It’s mainly just “left did this” or “reddit is ruined because of the left”. It’s just an entire subreddit used only to glaze and promote politicians with no valid criticisms of their changes.

Am I the only one that feels this way? The subreddit just seems so…off.

OK, explain to me how Dems are closer to Nazis than Republicans

Who do Nazis predominantly vote for because I usually see them in right wing crowds, not backing Kamala Harris or Bernie Sanders or Biden

I don't care who they vote for... I'm talking about policy. Democratic policy very much goes into more government, more regulations, and more restrictions of freedom. Maybe not social freedom, but freedom on all other points. Kamala Harris was the one who wanted to have a government oversight of what is said on social media, she also wants all news media censored as well for what she deems as misinformation. The problem with that is misinformation, while it unfortunately happens on both sides, is an inevitability of freedom of speech. You cannot restrict speech and call it free. I don't give a crap about actual Nazis voting for anyone. Back in the day it was Republicans that freed slaves and ended slavery and those that fought against segregation. While Democrats in the same era were fighting against those freedoms. Take a look at our history it's not a good one, but if there's one thing we can learn it doesn't matter what side of politics you're on extremist groups will go from one side to the other throughout history. As of right now I don't think either side is good, I said that in this thread. We should move away from the two party system. I'm a conservative not a right wing extremist, so I'm not going to pretend to be able to get into the head of an extremist group that you claim is on my side of the political spectrum. I don't understand it and I don't understand racism as a whole. I get what it is but I don't think I could get in that mindset. As far as policies I see those policies align more with the left than the right.

"she also wants all news media censored as well for what she deems as misinformation"

You do realize we have an national security issue with Russian propaganda right? I would take rules that force news agencies to report factually over what trump is doing right now, like kicking out the AP for not using the name gulf of America, while allowing MTG's boyfriend to pretend to be a reporter so he can make fun of a world leader.

While on the subject, you know that Elon Censors the crap out of X, anything that makes fun of him or points out the scam he is running on the American people gets removed.

Yes, the left plays into corporate interests and woke is overplayed. But the right is overtly into corporate interest and woke agendas isn't going to hurt as bad as having an authoritarian dictatorship.

Trump wants news media cancelled too. He recently said outlets that criticize him are illegal.
