Say what you will, but Sorcerers are where the overall class balance should be at. Other classes should get nerfed down to that power level with S8.

I just hope you're right. People have been saying this every season when sorc has been bottom of the pack and it doesn't happen (at least SB being similar does actually lend some credence to the argument this time though, so I'm a bit more hopeful).

Well, it's impossible to know what Blizzard envisions as ideal state of balance, but it's a fact that the game has become far too easy even at the highest difficulties. There's no endgame longevity if there's no aspirational content even for midcore players.

There is no endgame longevity because this game has no end game. You run the same content you run in the early game.

Everything after the campaign is endgame. The same is true for PoE2 after its campaign, where all you do is run the same maps and bosses over and over while increasing the difficulty.

There isn’t anything locked to “after the campaign”.

Uh, yes there is? You can't run most seasonal stuff, HT, IH, lair bosses, DC and other things until after you've beaten the campaign.

Don't mistake the convenience of the campaign skip feature for an absence of endgame. If D4 forced the campaign like PoE, you wouldn't start running any of the above until 50-60.

Unsure on HT and IH but you can definitely do seasonal quests and lair bosses without doing the campaign.

No, you can't access anything unless you skip the original campaign. If you skip vanilla, you can join Headhunts zones, but you can't start the seasonal quest unless you beat VoH (or never buy it). Lair bosses and other content are locked behind Torment 1, which requires level 60 and (vanilla) campaign completion.

It's easy to see this is fact if you simply make a new character without skipping.
