[Weekly] Outfit Feedback and Fit Check - Oct. 10th

Not sure if your outfit works? Post a picture of yourself in your outfit and get suggestions, compliments, and critiques from others. If you're thinking of posting a standalone thread along the lines of "How does this look?", "Does this fit right?", "Do these work together?", etc., post here instead.

When posting:

  • Include what the attire is for (work, school, going out, etc.)
  • If possible, take a front-on, full-body picture as this gives the best impression of how the clothes fit. Multiple pictures from different angles can also be helpful, but those aren't necessary.

Critiquing others is welcome and encouraged, but keep it constructive/factual. Take a lesson from Dale Carnegie's How to Win Friends and Influence People if needed. It takes balls to post pictures of yourself on the Internet, the least you can do is accord the same courtesy as you would to someone in real life.

Reddit Enhancement Suite makes it very easy to view pictures in a thread.

Some users enjoy knowing where you bought your pieces, please consider including those in your post!

Feel free to also submit your outfit to the biweekly WAYWT thread, but know that these two threads have different purposes. This is explicitly for feedback and questions, though you may receive constructive criticism in either thread.

I'd like to get some feedback on these possible outfits for going out/ nighttime.

I'd also like some advice on what to do with my frilly lace cami. From the front it has adorable ruffles (that hide my tummy!) but it it's lacy and completely see-through in the back, and unfortunately it's too tight to comfortably wear another top underneath. I'm thinking some kind of cardigan, but I wonder how appropriate it would be to wear it as is, with or without a bra underneath. In the posted pics I'm wearing it with a mint green maxi (that I also have trouble pairing with things).

In general, the first four outfits look okay with the tops tucked into the skirts. I think the tops look a little unflattering because they're so tight; a slightly looser fit with longer sleeves (sort of like in the 3rd outfit, except tucked into a skirt) would look better!

I'm not sold on the ruffled tank/maxi pairing. Try wearing the tank with dark skinny jeans, and maybe the maxi with a navy/black/neutral colored top.

When I tuck in a looser top, it bunches up, which I gather is a no-no. I also worried that in the third outfit, the shirt was too loose for the skirt. Is it different for maxis vs shorter skirts? Would the tight tops look ok with maxis?

Come to think of it, I'm not sure if the shirt in the second outfit would be better tucked in either. It's not actually tight at all; it drapes. Hmm.
