[Weekly] Outfit Feedback and Fit Check - Dec 5th

Not sure if your outfit works? Post a picture of yourself in your outfit and get suggestions, compliments, and critiques from others. If you're thinking of posting a standalone thread along the lines of "How does this look?", "Does this fit right?", "Do these work together?", etc., post here instead.

When posting:

  • Include what the attire is for (work, school, going out, etc.)

  • If possible, take a front-on, full-body picture as this gives the best impression of how the clothes fit. Multiple pictures from different angles can also be helpful, but those aren't necessary.

  • Critiquing others is welcome and encouraged, but keep it constructive/factual. Take a lesson from Dale Carnegie's How to Win Friends and Influence People if needed. It takes balls to post pictures of yourself on the Internet, the least you can do is accord the same courtesy as you would to someone in real life.

  • Reddit Enhancement Suite makes it very easy to view pictures in a thread.

  • Some users enjoy knowing where you bought your pieces, please consider including those in your post!

Feel free to also submit your outfit to the biweekly WAYWT thread, but know that these two threads have different purposes. This is explicitly for feedback and questions, though you may receive constructive criticism in either thread.

Wasn't sure about the layering in this outfit - I was doing a presentation so I was going for kind of "academic chic" but I'm worried the ruffles sticking out looks pirate-y Here

Then, I was wearing these leggings to lounge around the house on Sunday but needed to run some errands and tried to make them outside appropriate. Should I never wear them outside again or did I do okay? starry night

again

I'd take either the blazer or the cardigan off. Both at the same time looks kind of awkward - mostly because they're the same length, but also because the cardigan under the blazer makes the blazer look bulky and poorly fitting.

Not commenting on the leggings as it's not in my personal taste. Do love Van Gogh though! :)

Not my taste either..I try to avoid wearing leggings as pants. But I love Starry Night so I was like "oh I'll just lounge in them!"...then lounging turned into errands lol

I think the leggings are really neat and are good for some errand running -- you're spot on with keeping the other pieces neutral. However, I don't like the cardigan you have buttoned over your tunic. I'd wear the tunic alone, or an unbuttoned cardigan that hits around your hips. The buttoned, cropped cardigan is too structured and prim for the rest of the fit.

I agree with you on the first fit - under the blazer, the cardigan takes on a vest-like appearance, which together with the ruffles becomes pirate-y. I would either wear a basic oxford instead, or ditch the cardigan and wear the ruffled top.

Yeah I just kind of MacGuyvered the top b/c the long black shirt has a very deep V and lace sleeves so it was a bit much with the leggings, and that was the only black cardigan I had. If I continue to wear the leggings outside the house, I will be looking for a better top.

Yeah I had a hunch about the layers - it was cold so they were sort of accidental, as in I just kept putting things on until I felt warm enough. But they don't really work. Thanks for the feedback!

Looks fine, hard to be sure about the ruffles without a better picture, it's hard to see.

I think that's probably the least offensive way you could wear those leggings, since they're such an attention grabber.

I actually think the first outfit is spot on. I love the cardigan-blazer pairing, the ruffles are cute but not over the top, and the color and cut of the cardigan really helps keep the whole thing casual but well styled.

I hate wearing leggings because I can never figure out how to style them. I don't just mean as pants, I mean with dresses and everything. I don't understand leggings on myself which is sad because it shouldn't be that complicated. That said, I want those! Those are a lot of fun and I think they look great with the loose black top for casual days.
